Where Is The Problem If CABRAL LIBII And JOSHUA OSIH Enter Gov’t Today, Just As MAURICE KAMTO And ISSA TCHIROMA Did Yesterday! (Part1).

After all, Many Cameroonians Clamoring For ‘Change’, Demonstrated At The 2025 Presidential Election, Just Like They Did In 2018, That They Prefer To Support One Of BIYA’s Former Ministers.   Yet, The Same People Are On The Social Media Everyday Propagating Rumours, And Raising False Alarms That OSIH And LIBII Want To Enter Gov’t.  The Question As To Whether SDF And PCRN Should Accept Any Invitation To Enter Gov’t, Is, The Business Of SDF And PCRN Militants.

Hon Cabral Libii Ngue

The picture of the PCRN National President and member of the National Assembly, Hon Cabral Libiii Ngue’s handshake, with President Biya, at the presentation of New Year wishes that took place at the Unity Palace (Presidency) on Thursday, January 8, 2025, went  viral.  MRC militants, and supporters of Issa Tchiroma Bakary, as well as agents of some CPDM elites have ridiculously, been parading the picture as an ‘incontrovertible ‘evidence’ that Cabral Libii and his PCRN Party are about to enter the Government.  It should be noted that this was the first time since the PCRN leader, Cabral Libii, entered Parliament in 2020, that he attended the ceremony at the Presidency.  Detractors have even gone to the extent of saying that Cabral Libii was invited to the ceremony by President Biya.

It should however be noted that Cabral Libii, just like the National President of SDF and a member of the National Assembly, Hon Joshua Osih,  can attend the ceremony for the presentation of New  Year wishes at the Presidency,  in two different capacities . That is, either as the President of a political party represented in the National Assembly, or as member of the Bureau of the National Assembly.  If the person does not attend, it is simply that he does not want to attend.  Hon Osih for example did not attend the presentation of New Year wishes ceremony at the Presidency on January 8, 2025. He has in fact never done so since he entered Parliament in 2013.

Allegation Of Discussions To Enter Gov’t

Hon Joshua Osih

But  Joshua Osih  like Cabral Libii, have since before the last presidential election (October 12, 2025), been repeatedly accused  by MRC militants and Issa Tchiroma’s supporters , as well as disguised  agents of some CPDM elites,  of  negotiating  deals to enter the  Government, or better still, for  their parties  to enter Gov’t .   It is the same accusation that used to be leveled against Osih’s predecessor and political mentor, Ni John Fru Ndi, especially by agents and friends of some Anglophone CPDM elites.  The fear of those Anglophone CPDM elites was that if Fru Ndi and the SDF accepted to enter the Government, they would have been given some of the ministerial posts that would have gone to Anglophone CPDM elites. It is the same fear today.  It is the  same situation with  Cabral Libii and the PCRN, as some Bassa ministers and CPDM elites, are said to be worried  over the rumour that Cabral  Libii and his PCRN is to enter the government.

Remember that the Secretary General of the CPDM, Jean Nkuete, in a public declaration at a CPDM meeting in his native Menoua Division, alleged that the post which was given to another son of Menoua in government, that is, the National President of PADDEC, Barrister Jean de Dieu Momo, after the 2018 presidential election, was a post for the Menoua CPDM.  That is the mentality of CPDM elites.

Barrister Jean de Dieu Momo

In Politics, You Never Say, Never. But – – –

Meanwhile,  on Monday, January 12, 2026, an online French language publication, Week Infos ,reported that  deals have already been sealed for Cabral Libii , Joshua Osih , and Celestin Djamen (National President of APAR), to enter government, but gave no details or concrete  facts to substantiate the claim.  So far all those making the allegation, seemed to be merely speculating. Whether there have been discussions for SDF and PCRN to enter government is not known.  But we should not forget the fact that politics is said to be a game of interest, and that in politics you never say, never, because anything can happen.   Some years ago we saw for example how a prominent opposition figure, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who said all sorts of nasty things about the Biya regime, ended up not only entering the government, but even accepted to serve  as Government’s Spokesperson.

But to the The Mentor Mews, the question as to whether Cabral Libii and Joshua Osih , or better still,  PCRN and SDF, should enter Biya’s government , is a matter for the members of those two opposition political parties to decide.  It is NOT for MRC militants or Maurice Kamto’s followers, and Issa Tchiroma’s supporters, to decide on what SDF or PCRN should do, or not do.  What moral authority, do the supporters of Issa Tchiroma and Maurice Kamto even have, to tell Cabral Libii and Joshua Osih not to enter the government, when their leaders are Biya’s former ministers!

Issa Tchiroma Bakary

If SDF And PCRN Leaders Want To Enter Gov’t, It Is The Business Of Militants Of Those Parties

As aforementioned, the rumour that MRC militants and Issa Tchiroma’s supporters have been floating in the last few months, is that Joshua Osih and the SDF, as well as Cabral Libii and the PCRN, are to enter the government. But whether the SDF or the PCRN leaders want to enter the Government or not, is the business of members or militants of those parties.   Politics is said to be a game of interest.

The question is what moral authority have supporters of Issa Tchiroma ,  who spent two decades in the Biya government, and   MRC militants whose leader, Maurice Kamto, spent seven years in the Biya government, to   try to criticize the SDF and PCRN  on  allegation that those parties  have struck a deal  to enter the Government.   Nobody is saying that the allegation is true. But the question is, even if it is true, where is the problem!

Meanwhile, a debate is ranging in PCRN, as to whether the party’s leader, Hon Cabral Libii should accept or not, an invitation for the party to enter the government, if he was to receive such an invitation.  There are some militants of the PCRN, including some senior members of the party, that have openly expressed their opinion on the issue, by supporting the idea that Cabral Liibii  should accept an invitation for PCRN to enter the government, if invited, while there are others who are opposed to the idea, arguing that it will not  be a good thing for the party to do.
