NICO HALLE Was Conferred The Accolade At The 10th Anniversary Of THE VOICE Newspaper, Which Was Celebrated In Yaounde, On Saturday, May 30, 2026. Also, On The Occasion Of 2026 World Press Freedom Day, CAMASEJ Douala Presented An Award To HALLE, “In Recognition Of His Outstanding And Sustained Contribution To The Protection And Advancement Of The Press”.
One of Cameroon’s prominent personalities, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico HALLE, who reportedly holds the world’s record of highest awards winner, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, added yet another red feather to his cap. He received a distinction from one of Cameroon’s leading English language newspaper, The Voice, as, “The Most Celebrated, Unwavering Peace Crusader and Anti –Corruption Champion of the Decade”.
This was on the occasion of the 10th anniversary celebration of The Voice Newspaper, which has as Publisher, a young, dynamic and hardworking gentleman, Theodore N. NDZE, who hails from Menchum Division in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. The colourful occasion which took place in the nation’s capital, Yaounde, where the newspaper’s headquarters is based, was chaired by the President of the National Communication Council, Joe Chebongkeng Kalabubse, a reputed veteran journalist. Worthy of note that the awards which were handed out to a number of personalities or laureates at that great occasion were dubbed: DECENNIAL TRENDSETTER S AWARDS.
Meanwhile, the jury that designated Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, for the prestigious accolade, asserted that it was done in recognition of his excellence as a primary architect of peace and national reconciliation. “Over the last ten years and beyond, his –down – to –earth diplomacy has been the best – in – class model for conflict resolution in Cameroon. This award celebrates a leader who has traversed the length ,and breath, of the Republic to sow seeds of harmony, proving that his performant commitment to peace is the ultimate foundation for a prosperous society”, the jury which had as President, Kristian NGAH, the Publisher of the English language daily newspaper, The Guardian Post, explained. Worthy of note, that Ngah is also the Pioneer or Founding President of the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association, commonly known by the acronym, CENPA.

The award was “in recognition of Nico Halle’s outstanding and sustained contribution to the protection and advancement of the press in Cameroon, and beyond”. CAMASEJ D asserted that Nico Halle’s consistent advocacy for media protection and press freedom, has been widely acknowledged and deeply appreciated by the journalism community..

The International Crusade For Peace And Justice, And The Fight Against Corruption, Hate Speech and Xenophobia
Worthy of note, that besides being a prominent lawyer by profession (International legal consultant, legal luminary), Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, has over the years been engaged in a number of crusades or fights as a vocation. Halle has been an International Peace Crusader for over three decades. A spirit he partly ‘inherited’ from his father, who was a Man – of – God and peace crusader. There is also the fact that Nico Halle is devout Christian, and always strives to live his life as a true son of God, doing things to God’s glory. Halle has over the years held many top posts in the Church, including the post of National President of the Christian Men Fellowship, CMF.
Besides his constant outcry or concern for the ongoing bloody crisis (armed conflict) in the two Anglophone Regions of Cameroon, as well as the terrorist attacks by Boko Haram in the Far North Region of the country, Nico Halle has, as an International Peace Crusader, been very vocal or outspoken against several ongoing wars in the world like the Russia – Ukraine Conflict, the war in Sudan, and the conflicts in the Middle East including the Gulf, that are brutally destroying precious human lives, or killing God’s children as Halle prefers to say.
Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle is as well a Crusader for Justice, holding firmly to the conviction that Peace and Justice are interwoven, for there can be no genuine peace in a society or wherever, if there is no justice. Talking about justice, Nico Halle is also a human rights lawyer.
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle has for many years also been highly committed in the Fight Against Corruption, including Embezzlement, as well as in the Fight Against Hate Speech and Xenophobia, like what is unfortunately and currently playing out in the streets of South Africa.
Election Expert / International Election Observer
Sir Dr Barrister Nico Halle is also an Election Expert as well as an International Election Observer. It would be recalled for example that Nico Halle served for a total of seven years, following two presidential decrees, as member of the National Election Observatory (NEO), which was commonly known by the French acronym, ONEL. During that period, Nico Halle was in charge of supervising local and national elections, in the very slippery Northwest Region. Halle is known for being very vocal, on the importance for elections at all level to be free, fair and transparent, and thus credible and acceptable. He has a reputation that whenever he has to organize or supervise any election, there is zero tolerance to any form of fraud or electoral malpractice.
As an International Election Observer, Nico Halle has among other things, been designated by the African Union a couple of times to monitor elections in a number of countries with ‘difficult political terrains’ like Zimbabwe.
It should as well be noted that as a senior and highly respected lawyer, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle once served as the President of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association, during which period he did quite a lot to cleanse the dirty image of the Cameroon BAR, by instilling the spirit of good practice. At the end of Halle’s mandate, he organized the most transparent elections that the Cameroon Bar Association has ever had, setting the good standard for others to follow.
Nico Halle Is So Many Things In One
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, is also a community development promoter, and among other things served in the past as the National President of the Ndong Awing Cultural and Development Association, NACDA. In the traditional and cultural domain, Nico Halle who holds many traditional titles, is the Ntumfor , that is the Spokesman, of the Northwest Traditional Rulers known as Fons. Nico Halle is currently among other things, the President of Douala Chapter of the Bali Old Boys Association (BOBA), which is the association of ex -students of the prestigious and historic Cameroon Protestant College (CPC) Bali.
In fact as many observers have rightly put it, it is difficult to describe Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, because he is so many things in one.
Record Number Of National And International Distinctions And Awards
Meanwhile, research findings show that Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle currently holds the world’s record in National and International Distinctions and Awards. The distinction from The Voice Newspaper on May 30, 2026, put the record total number of national and international distinctions and awards that Nico Halle has received , at 208 (Two hundred and eight national and international awards and distinctions).
It should be noted that the many distinctions and awards that Nico Halle has received over the years, have been appreciations, and encouragements, for what he has been doing in his different crusades, as well as what he has either done, or is doing, in the several other domains in which he has been engaged , over the years.
When for example, the Douala Branch of CAMESEJ, on the occasion of this year’s World Press Freedom Day which was on May 3, 2026, honoured Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle with a prestigious award, “in recognition of his outstanding and sustained contribution to the protection and advancement of the press in Cameroon and beyond”, it was a fact. Nico Halle for example is the National Patron of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ), the National Patron of the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association (CENPA), as well as the Patron of CAMESEJ D, among others, and has been doing a lot for the media. It was even Nico Halle as National Patron of CAMASEJ, who some years back initiated the creation of the Douala Branch of CAMASEJ, and provided the funds for that to be efectively done.

Meanwhile, all the national and international distinctions and awards that Nico Halle has received over the years are in the Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle Award Gallery in Douala. The award gallery, that was dedicated late last year, was opened to the public early this year. As aforementioned, Nico Halle has today received a total of 208 awards and distinctions. It should be noted that the total number of the awards should have even been higher, if Nico Halle did not reject some of the awards (a total of 12), because he suspected that there were strings attached (financial demands or expectations).
