Senior Journalist, NDIH MAUREEN TEH, Known In The Media World As MAUREEN NDIH, Has Joined The Club Of Pioneering Female Editors –In – Chief In The Private Audiovisual Media In Cameroon. This Follows Her Appointment As The Editor – in – Chief (French and English Desks) Of One The Country’s Oldest And Leading TV Channel, CANAL 2 INTERNATIONAL  A Well Merited Appointment, And Thus A Glaring Testimony That Hard Work, Still Pays  In Cameroon.

MAUREEN NDIH

Senior Journalist, Ndih Maureen Teh,  known in  the media world as Maureen Ndih, has been appointed Editor –in – Chief of one of the  oldest and leading private TV Channel in Cameroon, Canal 2 International, with headquarters in Douala, where she has put in over 14 years of dedicated service.

The appointment also raises Maureen Ndih as one of the pioneering female Editors–In – Chief in the private audio visual media in Cameroon; a post that many consider as a reserve for men.  But Maureen Ndih’s appointment does not come as a surprise to many colleagues of the journalism profession, who have over the years either worked with her, or observe her at work.  Her appointment to the top post in the journalism profession, Editor- in – Chief, is a glaring testimony that hard work, pays.

Back – To – Back Awards As Most Hardworking Staff

Maureen Ndih is reputed for constantly nurturing the spirit of hard work.  She is never scared of facing challenges in the profession. Rather, she faces challenges with a positive mindset, as she believes challenges in the profession makes a journalist to grow better and, that life is not a straight line.

As a field reporter for many years, Maureen Ndih always showed the knack for news gathering.  She has over the years also being a news presenter, and many viewers also do greatly appreciate her in that domain.  However, she never relent her efforts to work harder as a news presenter, always believing that she has that capacity to even do better. Maureen Ndih has a personality and character that commands respect, and she has in fact over the years installed herself as one of the gallant personalities in the private audio visual media landscape in Cameroon.

Maureen Ndih’s hard work at Canal 2 International did not go unnoticed by the top management of the media organ or TV channel.  It was not for nothing that Maureen received back – to awards, as the most hardworking staff of the year.

The Programme,“Women And Leadership“ – Maureen Ndi’s Identify At Canal 2

Worthy of note that Maureen Ndih is also the presenter of the programme, WOMEN and LEADERSHIP, which is rapidly becoming one of flagship programmes of Canal 2 International.  The programme, WOMEN and LEADERSHIP is actually the conception of Maureen Ndih, and her identity at the media house.  The management of Canal 2 International along the line came to so much appreciate the programme, WOMEN and LEADERSHIP, and is now funding the production of the programme.   This is yet another testimony of Maureen Ndih’s hard work, and spirit of taking good initiatives.    As Editor –in – Chief, she will certainly stay on as the presenter of the programme.

It should also be said that the programme, WOMEN and LEADERSHIP, tells much about Maureen’s character – her belief that men and women in any profession ought to be given equal chances, and that women can also make good leaders, and thus leadership in any domain should not be a reserve for men. This fight a times has raised eyebrows against her, in the Cameroon society which is still more of a chauvinistic one.  But then when it comes to fighting for women’s rights, anywhere, Lady Maureen Ndih is unapologetic.

Staff Delegate

Lady Maureen Ndi H has over the years in Canal 2 International also distinguished herself as somebody who daringly fights for the interests of all workers. It is not for nothing that she has been re-elected a number of times as Staff Delegate or Staff Representative at Canal 2 International.  It is not clear whether as Editor – in Chief, she will maintain that post.

UB – Equinox TV – Canal 2 International

Worthy of note that after graduating from the University of Buea several years ago, Maureen  Ndih  first had a stint at another  leading private  audio visual media organ in the country,  EQUINOX  TV, in Douala, before later moving over to CANAL 2  INTERNATIONAL.  It is also worth noting that while a student at the University of Buea, Maureen Ndih did  her  internships at the then, THE HERALD  Newspaper of Dr Boniface Fobin (now of blessed memory), which then was  the leading English language newspaper in the country.  Maureen Ndih is also currently in the second year of a Master Degree programme at the Douala University, which fall in line with  her belief that there is never an end to learning.

President of CAMASEJ – D

As regard leadership, Maureen Ndih is currently in her second, and supposedly the last mandate as the President of the Douala Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ – D, which under her leadership has indisputably become one of the most active CAMASEJ chapters in the country, though some CAMASEJ members a times consider CAMASEJ –D as a rebellious Chapter. Whatever the case, Maureen has indisputably been constant in taking CAMASEJ –D to higher, and higher, heights, through hard work and her innovative spirit.

Mother Of Three

Meanwhile, Maureen Ndih  (not Ndi ) who hails from Momo Division in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, is a mother of three kids, two of whom are already in secondary  school (a Catholic boarding school), as she works hard to provide her children with the type of education, she  says, she never had the opportunity to have – attending a top class boarding school.

THE MENTOR extends best wishes to Madam NDIH MAUREEN TEH, or better still, MAUREEN NDIH, in her new post as Editor – in Chief of Canal 2 International.  More grease to her elbow, and may the sky be the limit.  GOOD LUCK, MAUREEN.
