TRUTH HOUSE Is A Group Of Bona Fide Presbyterians, Whose Founding Members In 2024 Resolved To Stake Their Necks TO Save The Church, By Standing Up To Denounce Those That Were Causing The Unprecedented Crisis That Was Seriously Rocking The Church, And Which Was Degenerating To The Alarming Point Where The Church Risked Splitting (Schism).
It was no secret in 2024 that the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, was choked by an unprecedented crisis due to the bad governance by the then Moderator, Rev Fonki Samuel Forbah, and his team at the Synod Office, as well as other members of his network in the Church. It was in fact a crisis that started some 10 years before, that is, from the beginning of the first mandate of Rev Fonki as Moderator of the PCC.
In 2024 which was a year of crucial elections in the PCC, or better still, the year of elections to the two top posts in the PCC (Moderator and Synod Clerk), the crisis worsen to the alarming point where the Church risked splitting (schism), especially if the election rigging machinery unscrupulously implanted in different forms and shapes by filthy hands, to influence election results, were not punctured.
Founding Members Of Truth House
In that 2024, a Group of 15 personalities, all bona fide Presbyterians, finally resolved to stand up to save the Church from the looming calamity. The Group adopted the name, TRUTH HOUSE. The 15 founding members of Truth House were: 1) BA NKOM RAYMOND DINGA GWANYALLA. 2) CHIEF ADA KESSI. 3) EPIE NGOME VICTOR. 4) PRINCE NDOKI MUKETE. 5) SENATOR MATUTE. 6) AMOS ANDIN. 7) DR. MUNDI EMM. 8) NKWETI PATRICK. 9) BARRISTER IKOME NGONGI. 10) DR ASSAM GEORGE. 11) BARRSITER NICO HALLE. 12) SESEKO TAKOR N. 13) NKWETI ROBERT. 14) WEREBESI RICHARD. 15) DR NTONIFOR HELEN.
The Group of 15 founding members, all prominent personalities in the society, and who hailed from the two Anglophone Regions, were dedicated Christians of the PCC that had also all served for long, in key positions at different levels in the Church. Three of the fifteen members of Truth House, Ba Nkom Raymond Dinga Gwanyalla, Chief Ada Kessi, and Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, for example among other positions served as members of the Board of Trustees of the PCC, which is the highest level that a laity can serve in the Church. Worthy of note as well that the three personalities all resigned from the Board of Trustees, in protest over some serious wrong doings or malpractices in the Church, that the then leadership of the PCC were indulged in, with impunity.
Memo To The Moderator Of PCC
Meanwhile, Truth House was silently created, and the Group also started its activities in the PCC without the public knowing. Initially, the intention of Truth House was to limit everything within the Church. But along the line, Information about the existence of Truth House, leaked to the public, when a powerful memo, known as TRUTH HOUSE MEMO, that was addressed to the then Moderator of the PCC, Rev Fonki Samuel Forbah, and dated October 2, 2024, leaked to a blogger in Buea. The Truth House suspected that somebody at the Synod Office in Buea, leaked out the information or the memo.
Suffice to say in the TRUTH HOUSE MEMO addressed to the then Moderator of the PCC, Rev Fonki Samuel Forbah, Truth House called on the Moderator to put his hands completely off the electoral process of the crucial elections that year, in the Church. Truth House even proposed that Rev Fonki should even be encouraged to resign as Moderator, to save what was left of the image of the Church, and also for the sake of peace, before the anger he had provoked in the PCC with his controversial and poor management, reached flashpoint. Truth House which as well called for the creation of a Crisis Committee in the PCC by Upright Christians, also made a number of other important recommendations in the memo, aimed at saving the PCC from more scandals due to bad governance, which were seriously destroying the image of the Church, and even seriously threatening its very foundation.
Truth House Stays On After Rev Fonki Leaves Post of Moderator
It should be noted that the Truth House rapidly grew to have over 2000 members, including some members of the clergy. But all the other members were scared to stake out their necks like the founding members of Truth House did, for fear of victimization by the leadership of the PCC then. Worthy of note also that Truth House stayed on, after the departure of Rev Fonki Samuel Forbah as Moderator of PCC, at the end of his two terms mandate, and the coming in of Rev Miki Hands Abia as the new Moderator of the PCC, in the first half of 2025. Members of Truth House explained that the Group was created to fight against things going wrong in the Church, and so would stay on as the watch dog in the PCC.
Resignations From Truth House
But then today, Truth House in the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, which is just about two years old, appears to be sinking or falling apart, with some founding members of the Group resigning. The Mentor News has learnt that the wave of resignations started about a month ago, when Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who is also a prominent and outspoken Crusader for Peace and Justice in the society in Cameroon and beyond, and who is also deeply engaged in the fight against Corruption and Hate Speech, resigned. A number of other founding members of Truth House like Chief Ada Kessi, Dr Ntonifor Helen, among others, have also resigned. All the members that have resigned from Truth House so far, have done so quietly, and that is why the public has before now not known about the resignations.
The Mentor News has also not been able to get the exact reasons for the resignations of Nico Halle, Ada Kessi and some other founding members from Truth House, as the different personalities have not been willing to talk to the press on the issue, at least for now. However from bits of information garnered by The Mentor News, one of the major reasons for the resignation of some founding members of the Truth House, is, that the Group has become less and less active, even when some burning issues come up in the PCC that needs the reaction of the Group. Since the beginning of this year (2026) for example, Truth House has not held a single meeting. It is not clear as to who is, or who are those members, responsible for the convening meetings of the Truth House, and why he has, or they have, not been convened any meeting since this year started.
What is certain is that due to the repeated failure to convene the meetings, Truth House has become inactive, or less active, and some members have thus decided to quit in disgust. Apparently, the founding members of Truth House that have resigned, do not also want to give the impression to the Christians of the PCC in particular, and to the public in general, that Truth House was created purposefully to fight the then Moderator of the PCC, Rev Fonki Samuel Forbah, and that with his mandate having come to an end, there is no longer any reason for Truth House to be active again.
It should be noted that it is not known, whether there are other major reasons for the resignations of some founding members of Truth House, since all the personalities that have resigned, have maintained sealed lips on the reasons for their resignations
