Parties Of Presidential Majority Reaffirm Their Unflinching And Unalloyed Support To President PAUL BIYA.

The twenty parties of the political platform known as Presidential Majority, which are allied political parties of President Paul Biya, have reaffirmed their unflinching and unalloyed support to the President of the Republic ( HE Paul Biya), that, the group has constantly been supporting since its creation in the early 90s.

This message of reassurance of the continuous commitment of the Presidential Majority, in its unwavering support to President Biya, was delivered during an audience that the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, granted the leaders of the political parties that constitute the political platform (Presidential Majority) in the nation’s capital, Yaounde, last week. The delegation of leaders of the political parties of the Presidential Majority, were led to Star Building (Prime Minister’s Office) for the audience , by the group ‘s Spokesperson, Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, Worthy of note that the Bamenda based businessman and political heavyweight, Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, is the National President of the United Democratic Party, UDP, that was created in 1992 and launched in grand style at a heavily attended ceremony at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium.

The Ideals Of Peace, Unity, Stability, And Progress

Meanwhile, according to the State media, Cameroon Tribune, of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, during the meeting with the Prime Minister and Head of Government, which precisely took place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Presidential Majority through their Spokesperson, El Hadj Lawan Bako, told the Prime Minister that they had come to reaffirm their unwavering support to the Head of State, HE Paul Biya, and “the ideals of peace, unity , stability and progress incarnated in the national renewal (New Deal) at the service of the population”.

In a very reassuring note, the Spokesperson of the Presidential Majority, Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, declared to the Prime Minister, just as he did while talking to the press at the end of the audience, that: “We are the Presidential Majority. The Presidential Majority was with President Biya yesterday, we are with him today, and will be with him tomorrow”. He explained that members of the Presidential Majority continue to support President Biya, because they know he is a great Statesman, that he understands all the problems of the Cameroonian people, and that they remain confident that he is going to resolve the pending problems, just as he has always done.

Welcomes Creation Of Post Of Vice President

Meanwhile, also talking to the Prime Minister and Head of Government, just as he did in his declaration to the media at the end of the meeting, the Spokesperson of the Presidential Majority, Bonchong El Hadj Lawan Bako, stated that the Presidential Majority welcomes the decision that was recently taken by President Biya, to create the post of Vice President of the Republic of Cameroon. The Presidential Majority through their Spokesperson expressed the hope that the person to be appointed to that high office of Vice President of Cameroon will be a real or true patriot, who will assist the Head of State in working for the interest of the country and all its citizens. They hope the Vice President will not thus be an unpatriotic person that will rather come and create more problems for the country, and thus instead aggravate the present situation of the country.

Meanwhile, addressing the delegation of members of the Presidential Majority, the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, said they made the right choice; that of belonging to the Presidential Majority. He congratulated them for having made the right and wise choice. “Le moment est venu d’assurer ce choix judicieux a travers la mobilization de chachun de partis politique, en vue de l’atteinte des objectifs de developpement du pays”, the Prime Minister said, meaning that: “The moment has come to embrace the judicious choice, through the mobilization of each of the political parties, in order to attain the country’s development objectives”

The Prime Minister seized the opportunity to recall the major institutional evolutions that Cameroon has recently known. He cited particularly the recent modification of the country’s Constitution, which focused on the creation of the post of Vice President of the Republic. As aforementioned, the Presidential Majority welcomes the decision by the Head of State to create the post of Vice President of the Republic, while hoping that the personality to be appointed to that high office, will no bet somebody that will come to instead aggravate the situation of the country.

The Timing

Many political observers will definitely agree that the time or period chosen by the leaders of the 20 political parties of the Presidential Majority, to reaffirm their unwavering support to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, was of great significance. This is considering the fact that the event took place just a couple of days to the celebration of this year’s National Day (May 20), which was in its 54th edition.

Talking about this year’s National Day (20th May) celebration, the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, called on all the leaders of parties of the Presidential Majority, to mobilize their militants across the country to take an active part in the 54th National Day celebration, especially in the march –past. The leaders of the political parties that are members of the Presidential Majority, at the meeting with the Prime Minister, took the firm engagement to mobilize the militants of their different parties, for a massive participation at the 54th edition of the National Day celebration.

Correspondence To Head Of State

Meanwhile, according to The Guardian Post Newspaper, the leaders of the political parties that constitute the platform known as Presidential Majority, during the audience granted them by the Prime Minister and Head of Government in Yaounde last week, also handed to the Prime Minister a correspondence addressed to the President of the Republic, HE Paul Biya, for onward transmission to the President. The newspaper reportedly learnt that in the correspondence, members of the Presidential Majority again restated their unshakable commitment to continue to stand by President Paul Biya.

But members of the Presidential Majority also expressed regret that their sacrifices were at times not getting commensurate attention, citing as example the case of campaigns for October 12, 2025 presidential election. “We wish to bring to your high attention, that despite our total commitment, the Presidential Majority did not benefit from any logistical support during the October 12, 2025 electoral campaign, contrary to the practice observed since 1992”, the members of the Presidential Majority complained to President Biya in the correspondence.

Competent Leadership And Personal Financial Sacrifices Of Spokesperson

The Presidential Majority, went on to disclose to President Biya, that it was thanks to the competent leadership capacity, as well as the personal financial sacrifices, of their Spokesperson, El Hadj Lawan Bako, who cheered them up as well as came to the assistance of some of the party leaders, that they were all able to mobilize their militants and sympathizers in different parts of the country during the election campaigns, to go out and vote for their candidate , President Paul Biya, at the October 12, 2025 presidential election.

The Director of Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office, was quoted to have honestly explained that campaigns for the October 12, 2025 presidential election were decentralized, and that no financial source was made available to the Prime Minister for the campaigns. “We were nevertheless advised to pursue our actions on the ground to ensure your re-election, which we did with determination”, the Presidential Majority further explained to President Biya in the correspondence.

In conclusion, members of the Presidential Majority reassured President Biya that: “We reaffirm our unwavering support and total loyalty to your person, as we have constantly demonstrated since 1992”. In extending their best wishes to the Head of State, HE Paul Biya, the Presidential Majority in the correspondence, told the President: “We take the opportunity, to renew our most ardent wishes for good health, longevity and success to you in leading our nation, and we extend the same wishes to your entire family”

Meeting At Spokesperson’s “White House” Residence In Yaounde

Meanwhile, The Guardian Post Newspaper, also reported that prior to the meeting with the Prime Minister and Head of Government, leaders of the political parties that constitute the Presidential Majority, met at the Yaounde residence of their Spokesperson , Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, National President of UDP, located in the Golf neighbourhood, and popularly known as the “White House”. Worthy of note that the newly constructed Yaounde residence of Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, that is, the ‘White House”, is in fact a palace, considering that Bochong is a traditional authority.

Meanwhile, the meeting at the Yaounde – Golf residence of the Spokesperson of the Presidential Majority, Bochong El Hadj Lawan Bako, had as the main point on the agenda, the drafting of the correspondence that the delegation of leaders of parties of the Presidential Majority, handed to the Prime Minister when they met him, for onward transmission to President Paul Biya.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the other 19 leaders of political parties of the Presidential Majority, to formally thank their Spokesperson, El Hadj Lawan Bako, National President of UDP, for the personal financial sacrifices he made, to enable them carryout out campaigns for President Biya at the October 12, 2025 presidential election. They equally expressed profound gratitude to their Spokesperson for “his sustained and constant sacrifices and support, to keep the group alive”. They as well pledged to continue to stand by their Spokesperson, for the interest of their group – Presidential Majority.
