Cry Out That Due To Absence Of Peace, Population Of NW /SW Cannot Go About Their Activities Freely, And Children Cannot Attend School – “The Very Foundation Of Development For Any Society”
“We Live In A Country Rich In Its Diversity – Diversity Of Cultures, Languages, And Religions – And This Is A Strength, Provided That We Consciously Choose To Live Together In Respect, Dialogue, And Tolerance”
“Yet Too Often, We Witness Divisions, Injustices, And Tensions – Whether Linked To Marginalization, Economic Exclusion, Or Community Conflicts. These Wounds Weaken Our Social Fabric And Slowdown Our Progress”.
The National President of the Cameroon Front, Madam Chantal Kambiwa, former senior member (NEC member) of the SDF, has once more expressed her deep concern over the horrible situation in which the population of the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon, has, been going through, since the Anglophone Crisis unfortunately escalated into an armed conflict in late 2017. Worth noting that though Mme Chantal Kambiwa is into politics, she is also very much into the civil society where is quite active, and she so perfectly handles the two, knowing where each should complement the other, or should end.
In a statement issued on the occasion of this year’s International Day of Peace on September 21 (2025), the National President of Cameroon Front, Chantal Kambiwa, cried out that due to the absence of peace in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, the population of these regions are unable to go about their daily activities, while children are unable to attend school, whereas education is the very foundation of development for any society.
The Importance Of Peace In A Society

The National President of the Cameroon Front also stressed on the importance peace in the Cameroon society, asserting that peace is the foundation on which development, human dignity and national cohesion rest. She noted that Cameroon is a country rich in its diversity, asserting that our cultural diversity is supposed to be a strength, and not, a weakness, for the country and its people. “Yet too often, we witness divisions, injustices, and divisions – whether linked to marginalization, economic execution, or community conflicts. These wounds weaken our social fabric and slow down our progress”, the outspoken Chantal Kambiwa remarked.
The leader of the Cameroon Front, in the statement addressed specific appeals to the State of Cameroon, the Citizens of Cameroon, as well as to the Youths, on the different responsibilities they have to take, to build a culture of peace in the country, for the good of the country and its people. Mme Chantal Kambiwa, also outlined the role that her party, the Cameroon Front, is determined to play, to help promote peace in the society, like by empowering women and youth, who are known to be the first to be affected in the society, by the absence of peace.
BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY, IS THE STATEMENT THAT WAS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE CAMEROON FRONT, CHANTAL KAMBIWA, ON THE OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY:
International Day Of Peace
Statement By The National President Of The Cameroon Front
First of all, I would like to send warm greetings to our sisters and brothers from the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon who, due to the absence of peace, cannot freely go about their daily activities, and whose children cannot attend school – the very foundation of development for any society. The Cameroon Front stands in solidarity with the population
Ladies and gentlemen, dear compatriots, on this September 21, the International Day of Peace, I address you with humility, but with conviction. Peace is not an empty word; it is the foundation on which development, human dignity, and national cohesion rest.
We live in a country rich in its diversity – diversity of cultures, languages, religions, – and this is strength, provided that we consciously choose to live together in respect, dialogue, and tolerance.
Yet too often, we witness divisions, injustices, and tensions – whether linked to marginalization, economic exclusion, or in community conflicts. These wounds weaken our social fabric and slow down our progress.
Today, I have made an appeal:
- To the State: Strengthen mechanisms of justice, truly protect the most vulnerable, and guarantee equality before the Law, regardless of gender, origin or religion.
- To Citizens: Cultivate peace in your daily lives – in the family, in the neighbourhood, on social media. Let each person be a peace maker wherever he or she may be.
- To the Youth: You are the future of Cameroon. Your voice matters, your energy can transform. Get involve, propose ideas, take action for social cohesion, for non – violent conflict resolution, for responsible citizenship.
My Party commits, on this day and beyond, to work for:
- Inclusive policies that reduce inequalities
- The promotion of community dialogue in fragile areas
- The empowerment of women and youth, who are often the first to be affected by the absence of peace.
Dear compatriots, peace is not given, it is built. It requires perseverance, courage, and solidarity.
Together let us commit to making Cameroon a land where everyone finds their place. Where everyone is respected, where resentment gives way to forgiveness, where the other is never seen as an enemy, but as a brother, sister.
Chantal KAMBIWA
National President, Cameroon Front
