Counter Offensive By CPDM, And Its Allies, Will Be Against BELLO BOUBA’S UNDP And TCHIROMA’S FSNC’s Show Of Political Force With Big Rallies.

Far North CPDM Boss, CAVAYE YEGUIE DJIBRIL  Announces Mega Rally In Support Of PAUL BIYA’S Candidacy  In Maroua, On Sept. 13. Observers Will Certainly Be Interested In The Participation Of Two Former FSNC Bigwigs, Mayor OUSMANOU SA’ALY And Hon SALAMANA

President Paul Biya

In the face of the show of political force or power being exhibited in the Grand North by Bello Bouba Maigari’s UNDP and Issa Tchiroma Bakary’s FSNC, that have launched grand campaign rallies for the crucial October 12, 2025 presidential election in which both leaders are candidates, CPDM elites of the Grand North are bracing up to launch a counter offensive to the show of political force, with the holding of the party’s mega rallies in the three northern regions. The rallies will be to manifest unalloyed support of the Grand North to the CPDM‘s candidate, incumbent Paul Biya, for the October 12, 2025 presidential election.

The first of the CPDM mega rallies in the Grand North has been scheduled to hold in the Far North Region, precisely in the regional headquarters, Maroua, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, as from 10 am, at the Lamidou Yaya Dairou Stadium. This information is contained in a communiqué that was issued by the Head of the CPDM Central Committee Permanent Delegation to the Far North, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, who is also the President of the National Assembly.  In the communiqué dated August 20, 2025, that was issued in the nation’s capital, Yaounde, the For North  Regional Boss of the CPDM, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, informed all  the Heads of  the CPDM Central Committee Permanent Divisional  Delegations of the Far North Region, of the mega rally, adding that he will personally preside over the rally. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril explained that the CPDM mega rally that is scheduled to hold in Maroua on Saturday, September 13, 2025, will be to rally as well as show support, for the CPDM candidate for the October 12, 2025 presidential election, Paul Biya.

CPDM Allies To Be Part Of The Rally

Cavaye Yeguie Djibril

The Far North Regional leader of the CPDM, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, in his August 20 press release also indicated that CPDM allies will be part of the mega rally to be organized in Maroua on September 13, 2025. Though he did not mention he names of the CPDM allies, a list in circulation indicates that the allies will include old CPDM allies like Hamadou Moustapha’s ANDP and Late Dakole Daisala’s MDR. Other little known or unknown names include RP, MSP, UCD, URSD, MNPC, ACC, ANPC, MPPC, RCUP, and RDDR.

However political observers will for obvious reasons, definitely be interested in the participation of the All Cameroonian Congress, ACC Party of Mayor Ousmanou Aman Sa’ally aka Yerima Dewa, and the Republican Party, RP, of Hon Salamana Amadou Ali II.  It should be noted that the Mayor of Pitoa in the North Region, Ousmanou Aman Sa’ally aka Yerima Dewa, was the Vice National President of of Issa Tchiroma Bakary’s FSNC Party, while Hon Salamana Amadou Ali II, the MP of Diamare Centre (Maroua Centre), was not only a senior member of FSNC, but was also known to be close to Issa Tchiroma Bakary.  Mayor Ousmanou Sa’ally who is said to a wealthy businessman, was as well said to have been one of the major sponsors of FSNC.

Ousmanou Sa’ally And Salama Quits FSNC To Create Pro-Regime Parties

Issa Tchiroma Bakary

It would be recalled that the decision by the National President of FSNC, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, to tender his resignation from the Biya Government on June 24, 2025, was followed the next day by the breakup of the alliance that his FSNC had with the ruling CPDM, and especially by a strong anti – Biya regime’s message addressed to the Cameroonian people by Issa Tchiroma, which went viral on the social media. Some members of the Biya regime in reaction, rapidly embarked on an operation to weaken or destabilize Issa Tchiroma’s FSNC. The strategy that was put in place was to use all possible means to entice some key members of FSNC, to resign from the party and create pro –regime parties.

That was  how the Vice National President of FSNC and Mayor of Pitoa, Ousmanou Aman Sa’ally alias Yerima Dewa, and the MP of Diamare Centre, Hon Salamana Amadou Ali II, separately resigned from  FSNC and created pro –regime parties, which were of course  each  legalized by the Minister of Territorial  Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, within a matter of days.  Both Mayor Ousmanou Sa’ally ACC, and Hon Samalana’s RP, have now formally become allies of the ruling CPDM, and are scheduled to participate along the CPDM, at the mega rally in Maroua on September 13, to be chaired by the CPDM bigwig, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

Rumours Making Rounds

Allegations have been floating that opposition supporters in the Grand North  have been branding Mayor Ousmanou Sa’ally and Hon Salamana as traitors, and chasing them away with their new parties,  saying that they don’t want to see the parties in that part of the country. It will thus be interesting to see what type of mobilization these two new parties, ACC and RP, will, be able to do for the September 13 mega rally of the CPDM and its allies, in Maroua. There is no doubt that the challenge will be more on the solder of Hon Salamana, who is an MP of Maroua  Centre, and thus the September 13  mega rally will hold in his constituency. Hon Salamana was reportedly very popular in Maroua while in the FSNC. It remains to be seen if he has maintained that popularity after leaving FSNC, or if his departure from the FSNC to create a pro -regime party has affected him politically.

CPDM Elites Insist That Biya Will Win In The Far North

Bello Bouba Maigari

Meanwhile, following the breakup of the alliances between the ruling CPDM and the UNDP, as well as the alliance between the CPDM and the FSNC, some Cameroonians are predicting a waterloo for incumbent Paul Biya at the October 12, 2025 presidential election in the Grand North, which is comprised of three regions – Adamawa, Far North and North Region. It should be noted that in line with the spirit of the alliances that the CPDM separately had with UNDP and FSNC, both parties used to support the CPDM’s National President and ‘natural’ presidential candidate, Paul Biya, at presidential elections in the country. That was seen by many as the reason why the incumbent, Paul Biya, used to win big in all the three regions of Grand North at presidential elections.

But following the breakup of the alliance between CPDM and UNDP and that between CPDM and FSNC, the two big northern parties will not support the candidature of the 92 year old President Paul Biya, at the October 12, 2025 presidential election. Not only that. The UNDP leader, Bello Bouba Maigari, and that of FSNC, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, are both candidates for the October 12 presidential election, meaning that Biya will now have to clash with his two longtime allies over votes in the Grand North Region, at the election.

From all indications, the main target of the leadership of the CPDM in the Grand North is the Far North Region, which they claim is President Biya’s fief, and that he will certainly win again at the October 12 election. But that view is certainly not shared by many Cameroonians.

It should be noted that in terms of votes, the Far North Region is the most important among the three regions, because it is being presented by Government as the most populated region in the country, and above all as the region with the highest number of registered voters, that also has a record of high participation rate at elections. Whether those statistics are genuine or not, is another story. Those statistics remain intact. What is certain is that if a candidate has a landslide victory at the presidential election in Far North Region at the October 12 presidential election, he is very likely to win the presidential election in the country.

Heavy Mobilization Of CPDM To Receive Minister Motaze

Minister Louis Paul Motaze

Meanwhile something unusual was observed at the Maroua Airport on Monday, August 26, 2025, when the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, arrived for an official working visit to the Far North Region. The Minister of Finance was accompanied by many Yaounde based CPDM elites from the Far North Region, like the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie.

The very heavy turnout of CPDM militants in Maroua at the airport to welcome the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, was a ‘jamais vue’ reception reserved for a member of Government on a visit to Maroua. Militants of the three wings of the party, that is, the CPDM, the WCPDM and the YCPDM jammed the airport in their thousands, carrying Paul Biya’s posters, as well banners with messages in support of the President. It was of course clear to political observers that the mobilization for the massive turnout of CPDM militants was more of a show of force, or better still, a warm up match for the CPDM ‘s counter offensive to be launched against Bello Bouba Maigari’s’s UNDP and Issa Tchiroma Bakary’s FSNC, at the Lamido Yaya Dairou Stadium  in Maroua on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
