Only Nine Nominees In Africa So Far

Speaking at the February 7 ceremony in Douala, Cameroon, the African Representative of the British American Open University of California, Professor Peace E. Udosen, disclosed that the reputed institution has so far nominated only nine Africans for its Doctorate Honoris Causa awards, and that Nico Halle is the only Cameroonian amongst the nine awardees. He as well disclosed that they had quietly been flowing up Nico Halle through online reports and other forums, for a longtime.  Prof Udosen who explained that Doctorate Honoris Causa is an honorific and not an academic award, said the Doctorate Honoris Causa is an honorary doctorate degree “given to a scholar considering the person’s quintessential achievements in his area of activities that positively impact society”. He asserted that it is the tradition of British American Open University of California to meticulously do lots of research on an individual listed for a possible award of the Doctorate Honoris Causa, before taking a decision as to whether the person deserves it or not.

Message Of Congratulation From Vice Chancellor

While congratulating Nico Halle for being an awardee of the Doctorate Honoris Causa awarded by the prestigious British American Open University of California, Prof Peace E. Udosen said “we have come here today, to celebrate you” He said the award of the Doctorate Honoris Causa by the British American Open University of California, is also an encouragement and motivation by the institution to Nico Halle, to continue with his Crusade for Peace and Justice, for the interest of humanity.

The African Representative of the British American Open University of California, Professor Udosen, on behalf of the institution, then went ahead to dress the laureate, Nico Halle, with the robe of Doctorate Honoris Causa  or Doctorate Honorary Degree. He as well as handed Halle the certificate that testifies the award. Nico Halle’s beloved wife, JUSTINE HALLE, stood by the husband as he received the award. Interestingly also, the Vice Chancellor of the British American Open University of California in Britain, Prof David BRUCEDAY,  sent the awardee, Barrister Nico Halle, a recorded message, in which he among other things congratulated him for the award he had received from the institution.

Global Peace Ambassador Award

Meanwhile Professor Peace E. UDOSEN, in his other capacity as Chancellor of UN recognized PEACE INTERNATIONAL INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH INSITITUTE, PIIRI, Abuja, Nigeria, conferred on Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, PIIRI’s Global Peace Ambassador Award. He explained that PIIRI’s award ,is the recognition of  Nico Halle, for being a courageous and outstanding “Peace, Justice and Human Rights Crusader and Advocate”, and the fact that Halle has a unique philosophy that, “What defines a man is the spiritual impact he has on humanity, and that one does not need to be rich to do that”.

Prof Udosen quoted the celebrated American media icon and philanthropist, OPRAH WINFREY, who said: “I have come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that is unique as is fingerprint, and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you have and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you”. He asserted that this is applicable to the laureate of the Global Peace Ambassador Award, Nico Halle.

“Barrister Nico Halle Is An African Icon”.

“Hence, considering the qualities, unique achievements and passion for service seen in the person of Barrister Nico Halle, which we got to know basically from our facts –finding methodology as a world-class  international interdisciplinary research institute, we are proud to identify and by extension encourage an African icon that is doing exploits in his chosen career  via the investitures of  Honoris Causa from the prestigious British American Open University of California USA, as well as the Global Peace Ambassador Award from a world-class Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute , Abuja”, Prof Peace E. Udosen asserted.

Prof Udosen said both the British American Open University of California and Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute, were optimistic that this noble recognition and investitures of outstanding awards, shall encourage the laureate (Nico Halle), “to do more for humanity, the African continent, and the world at large”.  The African Representative of the British American Open University of California, Prof Peace E. Udosen, who is also the Chancellor of the Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute, in conclusion told the laureate, Barrister Nico Halle that: “Congratulations as we charge you to justify the confidence reposed on you by these investitures”.

“Peace Without Justice Is Empty Peace”

Meanwhile taking questions from over a dozen media organs that covered the event, the reputed Crusader for Peace and Justice, Barrister Nico Halle, who now counts close to 200 awards, said “Awards mean nothing, but they also mean something. He stressed that if he doesn’t use all these awards, certificates, distinctions, medals, trophies to God’s glory, then they represent nothing.  “All these awards, distinctions or whatever comes from God, who uses me as an instrument in His vineyard, and the awards thus humble me”, the peace and justice crusader, said.

Nico Halle explained that he does not receive or accept just any type of awards, disclosing that he has rejected more than 12 awards because he realized that they were perked, on pecuniary interests.  As for Doctorate Honoris Causa conferred on him by the prestigious British American Open University of California, Halle disclosed that he and his family took two weeks to check online to be sure, and be double sure, about the authenticity and credibility of the institution and the award, before accepting it.

Responding to another question on his peace crusading that spans over 30 years, Nico Halle said a serious peace crusader must be one that is talking  peace with justice, because the two are interwoven. “Peace without justice is empty peace. It is transient, it is short lived. Halle asserted that his peace crusading for over 30 years ,  has been placed on the platform of core moral values –   love, justice, peace,  equity, dignity,  transparency, honour, nobility, patriotism, and of course the fear of the Lord”.

Asked about the importance of the Doctorate Honoris Causa Award to him, Nico Halle retorted: “What is in a doctorate, if you cannot use it to impact the society positively? So a Doctorate Honoris Causa Award is only important when the awardee use it to strive to impact the society, positively. You can be professor for one million years, but if you are not impacting society positively, your professorship is zero. If you are lawyer, and you are not impacting society positively, putting smiles on people’s faces, then you are what kind of lawyer?”

Nico Halle Dedicates Doctorate Honoris Causa Award To God, And The Family

Meanwhile in response to another question from the media, Nico Halle said he was dedicating the Doctorate Honoris Causa Award he received from the prestigious British American Open University of California, first to God Almighty, and then to his family (his dear wife and children) that have stood by him all along, in the face of all sorts of challenges in his crusading mission.

“You know, whether you like it or not, each time you are uplifted, you know you are harvesting more enemies.  In the society, we have people that are vile, satanic, wicked. Each time you are praised, it brings bitterness into some people. But never waste one minute with detractors, that is, their own area. You cannot stop them. Continue to do what God has asked you to do. You have a life span, you must strive to impact society, you must strive to impact the world, positively”, Nico Halle advised.  He added that: “I am being celebrated today because of the way I have impacted society positively. It is not because I have money. No. It is not because I am the most intelligent lawyer. No. Rather, it is because I go around with the Holly Spirit, and I do ask God to use me, His son, to impact the world, to make the world better than I met it.

Nico Halle asserted that all human beings are mortals, and so we shall all one day leave this world. But he said the important question we should each be asking ourselves, is what legacy we will each leave behind, or better still,  what have we done while we live, that is praise worthy, that can please God.

Sir Doctor Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle

Meanwhile, after receiving the Doctorate Honoris Causa Award, Nico Halle is henceforth formally known as Sr Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle. It would be recalled that the title of Sir, was conferred on Nico Halle at a Quadruple Award event in Douala on April 19, 2024, which was chaired by Rev Father Tatah Mbuy of the Bamenda Archdiocese.

In a presentation at the ceremony, Rev Father Tatah  Mbuy, who is the author of over a dozen books, said Nico Halle has over the years been doing a lot for humanity and the society, and that Halle is “someone I would without hesitation give any amount of academic honours, to,  not because  he has become a high priest of the academia, but because he has come to realize that an intellectual is not known and respected by the colourful design of his academic or by the number of titles before and after his name”. Rev Father Tatah Mbuy asserted that an intellectual is rather somebody who is able to transform knowledge into the improvement of the human person and his society as Nico Halle has constantly been doing over the years.  The Roman Catholic Priest and writer, further asserted that in the typical Anglo –Saxon culture, when somebody has achieved much for the society and humanity as Nico Halle has done, he is given the noble title, SIR.
