Hear NICO HALLE Says: “Marriage Is A Lifelong Commitment That Requires Love, Patience, Respect, Sacrifice, Understanding, Honesty, And Responsibility. There Are Challenges, But Never Allow Temporary Difficulties To Destroy The Commitment You Made. Husbands And Wives Must Love, Respect And Support One Another. In Marriage There Are Not Only Rights, But Obligations And Responsibilities As Well. Make Forgiveness Your Strength, And Communication Your Foundation”. HALLE Was Speaking At The 6th Edition Of Mass Wedding (100 Couples) That Was Organized By The Douala IV Council (Bonaberi), Which Designated Him As Chairman Of The Edition.
International Peace Crusader and Human Rights Advocate, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who also Fights against Corruption, Hate Speech and other forms of moral decadence in the society, has while congratulating newly wedded couples in particular, and all married men and women across the country, however reminded couples to always bear in mind, especially during challenging moments, that marriage is more than an exchange of vows, rings or the celebration of a wedding. “Marriage is a lifelong commitment that requires Love, Patience, Honesty, Respect, Sacrifice, Understanding, and Responsibility”, he has asserted.
Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle was speaking in Douala on Saturday, October 31, 2026, while addressing 100 newly wedded couples in particular, and married couples across Cameroon and beyond in general, at the 6th Mass Wedding that was organized by the Douala IV Council (Bonaberi). Halle was formally or officially designated by the Douala IV Council as the Chairman of the 6th edition of the Mass Wedding. It was a heavily attended and highly colourful ceremony, as besides invitees, family members and friends of the 100 newly wedded couples, jammed the occasion, which was also attended by the representative of the Minister of Woman’s Empowerment and the Family, as well as by local administrative, municipal, religious and traditional authorities.
It should be noted that a majority of the 100 couples that weeded on that blessed day of Saturday, October 31, 2026 in the Mass Wedding organized by the Douala IV Council, were people that had lived together for several years, but without being officially or formally married. It is the type of relationship that is commonly known in the country in Pidgin English as, “Come We Stay”. There were also among the 100 couples, some young couples that were to start their “living together” with the Mass Wedding organized by the council. The 100 couples, that are all resident in Douala IV (Bonaberi), are from different tribes, as well as different regions, in the country.
No Politics At The Occasion
Worthy of note that Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle who the last authority on the official programme to arrive the ceremonial ground, was welcomed on arrival by the Mayor of Douala IV, Prof Eduard Herve Moby Mpah. Worthy of note as well as that Nico Halle lives in Douala IV (Bonaberi), and thus it was a mark of recognition for him, and an honour, to be invited by his council or the council of his municipality, to be the Promoter of the 6th edition of the Mass Wedding organized by the Douala IV Council.
The Mayor of the Douala IV Council, Prof Eduard Herve Moby Mpah, and his collaborators, also strictly respected the condition which was posed by Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle to accept the council’s demand to be the Chairman of the 6th edition of the Mass Wedding organized by the council, which was that there should be no politics in any form, not even a party colour, at the occasion. Worthy of note that like with previous editions, the 6th edition of the Mass Wedding organized by the Douala IV Council, was funded by the council., with the support of some citizens – friendly companies in the municipality. I should be noted that no couple in the Mass Wedding was demanded a franc by the Douala IV Council, even for the marriage certificates, which were given for free.
The council also invited quite a number of artists and musical groups, drawn from different parts of the country, which reflected the cosmopolitan nature of the Douala IV Municipality. They included a ‘Bottle Dance’ Group, the ‘Zangalewas’, a ‘Bendskin’ Group, the popular Moslem female artist, Anima Poulloh, and of course a makossa artist, to grace or animate the occasion , which was really a celebration of marriage, with a lot of dancing by the newly wedded couples , the family members, friends and others.
There Are Always Challenging Moments In The Lives Of All Couples
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle in his address which was also designed to serve as counseling to the 100 newly wedded couples, cautioned that marriage is not a bed of roses, as life is not a straight line, for in life, like in marriage, there are always some challenging moments or periods, or better still, some temporary difficulties of different forms. He noted that human beings are not perfect, for perfection only belongs to God. “There will be challenges, but never allow temporary difficulties to destroy the commitment you have made today. Husbands and wives must love, respect and support one another. Make forgiveness your strength, and communication your foundation”, Halle strongly advised the newly wedded couples. Halle said in a marriage, the husband is the head of the family, while the wife is the head of the home.
As a legal mind, Sir Dr Barrister Nico Halle recalled Lord Penzance’s famous definition of marriage in Hyde v Hyde (1866), as “the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman, to the exclusion of others”. Halle stated that “this definition highlights the importance of consent, commitment and faithfulness”. He added that beyond its legal status, “marriage provides an opportunity for love to grow between two people, bringing families together and strengthening our society”.
Halle Strongly Condemns Violence Against Women / Femicide
The renowned International Peace Crusader and Human Rights Advocate, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, strongly condemned gender based violence or all forms of violence against women, and worst of all, the killing of women (Femicide). He said men who beat their wives are not better than animals, and should be living in forests.
Halle stressed the importance of genuine love to a couple. He pointed out that the Bible, which is the word of God, denounces in clear terms, violence against women by their husbands, including femicide. “Genuine Love 1 Cor. 13: 1 – 13. Husband, never beat, harm or kill your wife – Femicide should not be your portion”.
Halle said looking at the beautifully dressed newly wedded couples at the October 31, 2026 occasion, all participants at the event certainly admired the glamour and grandeur of the occasion. “However, remember that the true beauty of marriage is not measured by the splendour of the wedding day, but by the love, respect, and commitment you demonstrate throughout your lives, together. The celebration will end, but the real journey of marriage begins”, Nico Halle pointed out.
Rights, Obligations And Responsibilities / Mutual Respect, Learn To Communicate
Sir Dr Barrister Ntunfor Nico Halle told the newly wedded couples not only to bear in mind that as a man, or as woman, the person has rights in their marriage, but to also always bear in mind that each of the partners also has obligations and responsibilities that, should all be taken seriously. “You now henceforth have the responsibility to love each other, to respect each other, to protect each other, and to mutually support each other”, he stressed. He insisted that marriage should not be considered, or be seen by a partner as a manifestation of domination, or a show of force, between persons, but rather like a partnership, founded on legality, complementarity, and reciprocal respect. “Avoid hate speech, avoid xenophobia, etc. You should each learn to listen to each other, for all disagreements do not necessitate confrontations, and all differences must not become sources of division”, Halle strongly advised the 100 newly wedded couples in particular, and all couples in the country in general.
Nico Halle called on the 100 newly wedded couples to learn to communicate with each other, to forgive each other, and to have confidence in each other. “Be faithful or honest in your engagements, be responsible in the management of your home, you should strive to show solidarity to each other in the good and difficult moments. Take decisions that concern your family together, support each other’s professional ambition, and never allow pride to destroy what love has built”, Halle strongly advised the couples. He further advised that when there are financial difficulties, each of the couple should remember that they started the journey together, and with courage and hope.
Bring Up Children To Be Obedient, Discipline, Hardworking, Respectful, Honest
Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, as well advised the 100 newly wedded couples, that if God gives them children, each couple should try to bring up their children together in the spirit of love, discipline, honesty, tolerance, hard work, obedience, respect, and above all, the fear of the Lord. He urged parents to strive to be good role models to their children. “Don’t forget that children learn more what they see at home, than what the y are told. Strive thus to make your homes schools of peace, respect, and other good values”, he urged the couples. Halle advised the 100 newly wedded couples not to seek to build a perfect marriage, for perfection belongs to God. Rather, he said they should instead try to build a happy, solid and durable marriage, in which each of the partners finds security, consideration, and fulfillment. God has given you a woman of virtue, protect her – Proverb 31: 10 – 13, he added.
Halle Pays Homage To Minister Of Women Empowerment And The Family, For The Initiative
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, saluted the initiative that was taken by the current Minister of Women Empowerment and the Family, Prof Marie – Therese Abena Ondoa, some 10 years, by officially instituting this vision of mass wedding . He explained that mass wedding permits or makes it possible for many fellow citizens (men), that due to financial difficulties cannot foot the bills of organizing a wedding, and thus live with women without being legally married (commonly known in the country as “Come We Stay”), to be able to cross the barrier by legally getting married.

As a lawyer by profession, Nico Halle explained that the illegal marriage commonly known in the country as “Come We Stay”, is not a legally recognized marriage, and thus has a lot of possible risks, especially to a woman.
The Peace Crusader and Human Rights Advocate, Nico Halle, voice of the voiceless in the society, said that mass wedding is a salutary initiative, for it is profoundly humane. He argued that legalized marriage and its advantages, in our society, must not be a reserve for those who have the financial means required. He thus stressed the fact that the celebration of marriage in the society or country should never be a luxury that is in accessible only to some citizens, but should rather be a possibility offered to all those who desire to create a family in dignity, responsibility and love. Halle said looking at the 100 newly wedded couples, their families and friends, all in an atmosphere of joy , elegance and conviviality at the October 31 Mass Wedding occasion , makes all of them at the occasion, witnesses of the transformation of a good vision and beautiful initiative of the Minister of Women Empowerment and the family, that is transforming the aspirations of many citizens, into realities. Many people without the required financial means are now able to engage in an official wedding ceremony.
Nico Halle Salutes The Mayor Of Douala IV (Bonaberi) For The Mass Marriage
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, extended gratitude to the Mayor of Douala IV (Bonaberi), Prof Edward Herve Moby Mpah, for the confidence and honour that the council bestowed on him, by inviting him to be the Chairman of the 6th edition of the Mass Wedding organized by the council, an occasion with great social importance, as well as of great importance to the family. Halle also saluted the decision by Mayor Mpah and his Douala IV Council, to have engaged in the organization of Mass Marriage, which was at its 6th edition this year. He once more highlighted the importance of such an occasion or event, in the society. Halle encouraged the council to go ahead with that positive spirit of organizing Mass Wedding, which helps to legalize many illegal marriages in the society, and thus protect the marriage, the woman and the man, as well as protect the products of the marriages (children).
Nico Halle also handed over to the oldest and youngest couples at the mass wedding, some important, well designed and framed piece of advice, to serve as their guide. It was titled, “VOTRE FOYER – UN SANCTUAIRE POUR LA JUSTICE ET LA PAIX”, meaning that the home of the couples should be a Sanctuary for Justice and Peace.
Worthy of note, that the Douala IV Council commonly known as Bonaberi , which is one of the five Sub –divisions in the nation’s economic capital, Douala, host the largest Anglophone community in Douala.
