Cracks On The Wall Of G.27+: Is Hon. Nintcheu Scheming To Revive His Political Party, RAP?

Hon Njong Evaristus Says He Has Nothing To Do With Nintcheu’s Group, G.27+

The Boyo MP was not dismissed from SDF, but his name remains No. 19 on the membership list of G.27. Could it be that the name of Hon Awudu Mbaya, who is now dead, was added to the list of G. 27+ without him being conscious of what was happening, considering he was then very sick?

The MENTOR presents the list of members of G.27+ that first came to light last year with the meeting in Mbouda, as well as the list of militants of the SDF that were dismissed last February.

There are cracks on the wall of the group of dissidents that call themselves G.27+, and who were dismissed from the frontline opposition party, SDF, for anti-party activities on February 25, 2023. G.27+ that the National Chairman of the SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi, who passed away early last week, used to refer to as Nintcheu and his group.

Many members of G.27+ were embarrassed when the former Littoral Regional Chairman of the SDF, Hon Jean Michel Nintcheu, who is known to have been the ‘original’ leader of the group, recently suggested that the group could as a way forward create their own political party, than to continue fighting to return to the SDF. That proposal did not go down well with many members. Though Nintcheu in his proposal that was captured by some journalists in Douala talked of G.27+ creating a new party, many members of the group immediately thought that he was scheming to use them to revive his political party, RAP.

It would be recalled that soon after the dissidents were dismissed from the SDF last February 25, Hon Nintcheu wrote to the National Assembly to indicate that he was no longer of the SDF. He repeated same during the election of Bureau Members of the National Assembly in last March. Others think that Nintcheu, who has been in the National Assembly since 2007, that is over 15 years today, has made much money for himself and no longer care.

Nintcheu And His Brother Created The Party, RAP

Meanwhile, what many Cameroonians do not know is that Hon Jean Michel Nintcheu, and his junior brother, Brice Nintcheu, created a political party called RAP. Worthy of note that Brice Nintcheu, who is a strong political activist based in Britain, is one of the leaders of the anti–Biya regime group in Europe known as ‘Brigade Anti Sardinard’, BAS.

Jean Michel Nintcheu, like his younger brother Brice, is in reality a good political activist, but from all indications, he cannot be a good political or party leader. After he and his brother created RAP, they could not make any headway to bring onboard many militants, as it remained more of a party on paper like the over 300 parties in Cameroon today. So Nintcheu had to face reality. He decided to join the SDF by ‘fusing’ his party into the then leading opposition party. Brice Nintcheu refused to follow his big brother to the SDF, and from then focused fully on political activism.

It should as well be noted that one of the reasons that Hon Jean Michel Nintcheu was so indisciplined in the SDF was that he thought he was not supposed to be at the level with other elite of the party. When I wrote an article in The Post Newspaper last year criticizing Hon Nintcheu’s management of the Littoral SDF, he called me and said I should not be comparing with other elites of the SDF, for he was not supposed to be at the same level with them. He argued that before he joined SDF he was not only already a politician but a party leader, while according to him the others started politics in the SDF, and so could not compare themselves with him in the domain of politics.

Hon Njong Evaristus Distances Himself From G.27

Meanwhile, when yesterday THE MENTOR did an article on the upcoming NEC meeting of the SDF and associated Hon Njong Evaristus of the Boyo Constituency in the Northwest Region to the dissident group, he called and said he has nothing to do with the Nintcheu group, G.27+. He said that all he knows about Nintcheu is that the two of them are members of parliament, and that if not they have nothing in common. This, even though it is known that the relationship of Hon Njong Evaristus and the Chairman of the SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi, now dead, became really sour.

It is true that Hon Njong was not on the list of SDF members that were dismissed by the party last February, and thus remains an SDF MP and militant. But what Hon Njong would not explain is why his name continues to remain on the list of members of the dissident group, G.27, and why he had before now never come public to disassociate himself from the group. Or has he been trying to play the game of staying smart, with the view that one never knows what can happen tomorrow!

Did Hon Awudu Mbaya Consciously Accept To Join G.27+?

Meanwhile, in a normal situation, the leadership of the dissident group that call themselves G.27, would have ‘readjusted’ their name to G.26+, when Hon Njong Evaristus pulled out if truly he did. As we see with the group of ‘super countries‘, known as G.8, since Russia was dropped or suspended from the Group, it has since been known as G.8–1.

The decision by the group to have maintained the name, G.27 after Hon Njong Evaristus apparently pulled out, smarts of dishonesty on the part of the leadership of the group. They want to give the false impression that the group has stayed intact since the Mbouda meeting of last year, whereas that does not seem to be the case.

The apparent dishonesty on the part of G.27+, or is it rather G.26+, has led THE MENTOR to start asking questions about the alleged involvement of Hon Awudu Mbaya Cyprian on the list of the 34 SDF members that dragged the SDF National Chairman, Secretary General, and Party to court and ended up being dismissed from the SDF. I am just wondering. I don’t have any facts on this particular issue, but I think that it might be a good idea for NEC to revisit Awudu Mbaya’s case, especially now that he is dead, and re-investigate the matter. Some people alleged that Awudu Mbaya was already in a critical condition in a hospital in the US by the time his appeared on the list of G27+. Could it have been that someone dishonestly put his name on the list of the dissidents, when he was not really conscious of what was happening? Did NEC have any concrete evidence that Awudu Mbaya joined the group of dissidents that dragged Chairman Fru, the SDF Scribe, and party to court, or NEC dismissed him just because his name was on that list of dissidents that was paraded around.

Except Of The Resolutions Of The February 25, 2023 NEC Meeting

Meanwhile, here are except of the Resolutions of the meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the SDF that held in Yaounde on February 25, 2023. They include names of the dissidents that were sacked from the party:

“Adopts the reports of the National Legal Advisers that reject the petition filed by 27 members for lack of locus standing, and cancels the decision of the Tiko Electoral District applying Section 8.2 of the Constitution on Mayor Mokondo Daniel.

Take cognizance of four court cases brought against the Chairman, the Secretary General, and the Party, by a few members of the Party. By seeking external legal redress to grievances that are internal in nature, by-passing the organs and statutory disposition of the party, such members are by this act, forfeiting their rights to membership.

Thereby takes cognizance of the self-exclusion of the members in accordance with Section 8.2 of the Constitution as a result of their assault on the Party and its hierarchy, their anti-party activities with a clear intention to discredit Party effectiveness, injure the reputation and the interests of the Party.”

List Of Members Of The G. 27

Here is the list of the 27 members of the dissident group in the SDF that last year participated in an illegal meeting in Mbouda, and wrote a petition to the National Chairman of the SDF, which is mentioned in one of the resolutions of the NEC meeting of February 25, which stated that: “Adopts the reports of the National Legal Advisers that rejects the petition filed by 27 party members for lack of locus standing”. It is the 27 members of that Mbouda meeting that adopted the name G.27, and moved to G.27+, when some other members of the SDF joined them.

Here is the list of the G.27 as appeared on the list they issued after the Mbouda meeting:

  1. Senator Tchachouang Paul.
  2. Mme Mahop Scholastique.
  3. Kumase John
  4. Nkemlemo Denis.
  5. Wafo Jean Paul.
  6. Hon Yoyo Emmanuel
  7. Ntonga Emmanuel
  8. Nintcheu Jean Michel.
  9. Senator Sonkin Etienne
  10. Tsapy Joseph Lvoisier
  11. Ngoualem Rodrigue Carlos
  12. Mouafo (1st Deputy Mayor of the Bafoussam 1 Council).
  13. Senator Jean Tsomelou
  14. Ngnang Cyrille
  15. Prof Kofele Kale
  16. Mme Kambiwa Chantal
  17. Tchangop Florent
  18. Wambo Guy Mesmin
  19. Hon Njong Evaristus
  20. Hon Paul Nji Tumasang
  21. Wanko Jean Robert
  22. Hon Fopoussi Fotso Evariste
  23. Kouasseu Charles
  24. Moustapha Ngouana
  25. Senator Abouka Sirona
  26. Toko Raphael
  27. Sukam Tchadjui Pierre.

This is the group of rebels that started problems in the SDF last year, that later dragged onboard some gullible members of the party who ended being dismissed from the party alongside the rebels.
