“Some Of Us Who Talk Peace In Pubic, Do So Just To Please, As In Reality We Are Not Committed In Working For Peace. We Talk Peace, But Do Not Practice Peace. We Lie A Lot. We Are Not Very Focused Or Committed In Seeing That Real Peace Prevails In Our Society. Some Of Us Condemn Hate Speech In Public, But Promote it Behind The Scene, And Yet Claim To Be Peace Promoters”.

Cameroonian born International Peace Crusader, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who is also among other things a member of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, has expressed the view that Hypocrisy, Falsehood, or Dishonesty, is the main stumbling block on the path of the process to peace in Cameroon.
He expressed this view, while responding to questions posed by CRTV, precisely for the programme, “Issue InThe News”, at the end of a colloquium aimed at promoting peace in Cameroon, which was organized by the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in the nation’s capital, Yaounde. The colloquium which was on the theme, Religion and Social Cohesion, held on October 7 & 8, with the closing ceremony of October 9, 2026.
The renowned International Peace Crusader, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who is also highly committed in the Crusade for Justice, and the Fight against Corruption including Embezzlement , as well as the Fight against Hate Speech, and all other firms of moral decadence in the society, expatiated on how hypocrisy , falsehood , or dishonesty is the main stumbling block on the national peace process in Cameroon.
“Many Of Us Talk Peace, But Never Practice Peace”
Hear Nico Halle “Many of us pretend to be what we are not, we make believe,, we talk to please. We lie a lot. Many of us talk more than we do. Some of us go to the radio and talk peace, when we never practice peace. Some of us mount the pulpits and preach peace, love and harmony, when we do not live those sermons. Some of us go to conferences and present beautiful papers on peace, justice, love and so on, when we do not in reality embrace those values. Some of us talk love, but create havoc all the place. I never have kind words for all these people”.
It should be noted that the reputed International Peace Crusader, Sir Dr Nco Halle, has always stressed on the fact that it is an individual’s character or personal capacity, which include the perosn’s spiritual strength, and not a person’s post or profession, that makes him a real peace crusader, or a lover of peace. Halle has always say that the difficulties, or the stumbling blocks, on the path of the process to peace in our country, in our society, in our regions, in our divisions, in our villages, in tribes, and so on, is that most often, those who place themselves or push themselves to the frontline of a peace process, do so based on their their character or individual’s capacity.
And so people are designated, or they push themselves on the frontline of a peace process , more because of their political positions, their posts in the administration, their professions , their financial strength, or because they are members of government and so on. They are not in that frontline because they are good in conflict resolutions, in peace building, in conflict management, or because they are real peace lovers, people that honestly embrace peace. He said in such a situation, the peace process in the country, or wherever, cannot realize any concrete progress.

Hypocrites On The Front Line
Nico Halle has been asserting for example, that an elite or somebody who strongly condemns hate speech in public, but secretly goes behind in his village or tribe to promote hate speech, cannot effectively fight against hate speech in the society. His people who know that he promotes hate speech behind the scene, will not take him serious, when he condemns hate speech in public.
So also do we have some elites who strongly condemn inter -tribal or inter- religious conflicts in public but behind, the same persons promote the ill for political reasons or whatever. How can such an elite honestly be in the frontline of a peace process to end the conflict, and things works out well? There are traditional rulers that have fallen out with their people. Some have even since ran away from their villages, and have been living in the cities, especially in Yaounde and Douala. How can such traditional rulers be in the frontline of a peace process in the region or division, and it works!

The Importance Of Honestly On The Real Cause (s) Of A Crisis
The International Peace Crusader, Sir Dr Barrister Nrumfor Barrister Nico Halle, always stresses the fact that, there must be honesty in talking about the cause or causes of a conflict, for a peace process to succeed. That is, people must be honest enough, to agree on the real cause or causes of a conflict, crisis or whatever, for authorities to be able to put together the right ‘ingredients’ for the conflict resolution. Halle always argue that if people are dishonest in talking about the real cause or causes of a conflict or crisis, then the peace process becomes very complicated, because one cannot build real peace on a false premise. A crisis is like an illness, if the right diagnoses, is made, and thus the real causes of the illness known, it would facilitate the treatment of the illness, by the doctor.
Halle, who as a peace crusader, has for example reconciled many traditional rulers, pastors, journalists, lawyers, and so on, says for him to be able to succeed to carry out a reconciliation and building peace, both parties must be prepared to tell him the truth, if not , the reconciliation will not work. He says if there is inter – tribal conflict, any peace process must be built on honesty for it to work. When there is lie telling about the cause of an inter-tribal conflict, the lie will be the stumbling block in any peace process.
Colloquium Was Timely
Meanwhile, in the interview with CRTV, Sir Dr Barrister Ntunfor Nico Halle saluted the organization of the colloquium to promote peace in the country that was organized by the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, saying that its holding was timely. He also saluted the President of the Commission, Peter Mafany Musoinge (former Prime Minister of Cameroon), for the initiative. “The papers that were presented at the colloquium were beautiful. For me, they constitute a treasure”, he remarked. Halle however said his problem or fear, is rather with the implementation of the recommendations, because the general tendency in the country, is that after a colloquium, seminar or conference, the recommendations end there. He however was optimistic, that this time around, things will be different.
As to why he said the colloquium was timely or necessary, Nico Halle, reputed as a man of frank talk, explained that this was considering the fact that moral decadence in all its forms, has not gone away from our society or country. “Hate speech has not given way. Xenophobia has not given way. Bribery and Corruption, including Embezzlement, have not given way. Tribalism, Nepotism, and other vices have not given way. In fact moral decadence in all its forms has not given way. They are still there, staring us in the face, despite the efforts we have been making”. he stated.

Inter – Religious Conflicts
Talking about inter – religious conflicts in the society, which are in different forms, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, said he felt so sad that while religious bodies ought to be one, as they are supposed to constitute a model for the secular world, some of them are on each other’s throat. He said the spirituality of such religious bodies end inside the Church buildings, as they don’t impact society, or better still, they are not seen to be impacting society.
Poverty, Misery – A Stumbling Block To Peace
The International Crusader for Peace and Justice, Sir Dr Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who is also highly engaged or committed in the Fight against Corruption (including embezzlement) and Hate Speech, pointed out that poverty and misery in the society, constitute a stumbling block on the peace process in a country. He explained that when people live in poverty and misery, it is difficult to talk peace to them, and they listen, especially when they think that some people are responsible for their situation.
“Look at Cameroon. It is a country blessed with abandoned natural resources. It is a country that is thus supposed to be rich. But due to the fact that many of us do not love each other, and that many of us are also not patriotic, we are in the situation in which we are today. Our country is not supposed to be poor. If we love each other, if we are patriotic, and thus exploit these abundant natural resources that God has blessed our country with, for the good of everybody, there will be no cry of high unemployment rate in the country. Many people will have jobs, and be able to manage their lives. There will be no poverty and misery in the society. We will have beautiful road infrastructures, good rail lines, regular electricity supply, availability of portable water, many good aircrafts, good and adequate classrooms, and so on”, Halle argued.
“God Is Love”
Worthy of note, that when Sir Dr Barrister Ntrumfor Nico Halle took the floor, at the heavily attended colloquium, that was organized by the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, he stated that God who created this world, is Love. He said if God is Love, then it is imperative that we, as God’s children, should, or ought to, align ourselves with God’s Love, and make sure that we share with each other, the Love that God gives. He explained that sharing God’s Love with each other, means lowing each other.
“It is not for nothing that the greatest commandment in the Bible is , Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself, Halle further explained. He as well explained that when it is said that one should love his neighbour as himself, the neighbour is not an issue of proximity, meaning that the neighbour is not only the person living next to you. “Rather, anybody, anywhere in the world, who is affected by your action, is your sister, is your brother, is your neighbour. Strive to love the person, as your love yourself”, Halle further expatiated on what neighbour in the Biblical sense, as found in the commandment, means.
Sir Dr Nico Halle, who is a highly religious person, or better still, is a highly committed Christian, stressed on the fact that the greatest commandment in the world is Love. “Where there is Love, there is Joy. Where there is Love, there is Justice for all. Where there is Love, there is no Hate Speech. Where there is Love, there will be no Corruption, Embezzlement, Tribalism, Misappropriation, Blackmail, and all other vices”, Nico Halle asserted.
