How The PCRN Leader, CABRAL LIBII, Views The National President Of UNDP, BELLO BOUBA, And the National President of FSNC, ISSA TCHIROMA

CABRAL LIBII Admits That He Has Doubts In His Mind, About Any Person That Was In The Opposition, Left And Joined The Regime, Stayed There Quietly For Many Years, And Returns To The Opposition
CABRAL LIBII Says His Observation Of ISSA TCHIROMA Is That When He Is In The Opposition, He Is So Enthusiastic And Is Very Critical Of The Regime, And When He In The Regime, He Is Equally So Enthusiastic And Speak In Strong Defense Of The Regime.
At the programme where he was guest at Info Tv in Yaounde in the evening of Friday, August 15, 2025, the National President and the October 12 presidential candidate of PCRN, Hon Cabral Libii Ngue, was asked by senior journalist, Jean Jacques Ndzie, what he thinks of the National President UNDP, Bello Bouba Maigari, as well as the National President of FSNC, Issa Tchiroma Bakary. They both recently resigned from Government and returned to the opposition, and are both candidates at the October 12, 2025 presidential election.
It should be noted that while some opposition leaders and their parties have been running behind Bello Bouba and Issa Tchiroma, following their return to the opposition in late Jun e 2025, after being in the Biya regime for decades, Cabral Libii and his PCRN, have rather seemed to be lukewarm about them.
UNDP Leader, Bello Bouba Maigari

Starting with the UNDP National President, Bello Bouba Maigari, the leader of PCRN, Cabral Libii, remarked that it is somebody with long and rich experience in politics, both in the opposition and in alliance with the ruling CPDM party. He recalled that Bello Bouba served under Cameroon’s first President, Ahamadou Ahidjo, Cabral Libii also recalled that Bello Bouba as well became the first Prime Minister of Cameroon when Paul Biya became President of the Republic in 1982. He later left the country to Nigeria, returned a number of years later, joined the opposition as leader of UNDP, and went on in 1997 to join the Biya regime in the CPDM – UNDP alliance, He noted that Bello Bouba and some his comrades of the UNDP entered the CPDM Government in 1997 following the signing of the alliance with the ruling CPDM, and that he was in the regime for over 25 long years, and only left a few month ago. He said Bello Bello Bouba thus returned to the opposition with a long experience in Government.
Issa Tchiroma Bakary

As for the leader of FSNC, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the PCRN leader, Cabral Libii, said that he is somebody who has twice entered the CPDM Government. He said he and Issa Tchiroma came to know themselves when he (Tchiroma) was Minister of Communication. Cabral Libii said what he has over the years observed about Issa Tchiroma as a politician, is that when he is in the opposition, he is so enthusiastic about it, and is so critical of the Biya regime, and when he enters the regime, he is also so enthusiastic and defends it strongly. So he said Tchiroma is somebody that when he is in the opposition he puts in all, and when he in the regime he also puts in all.
Doubts About Somebody That Has Been A Member Of The Biya Regime

Cabral Libii was also asked about an allegation that went viral on the social media a few months ago, that he said he cannot work with somebody, or better still stand behind an opposition leader who was a member of the Biya regime, and has left and join the opposition. Though he did not mention any name, Cabral Libii then was understood to be referring to the then MRC leader and the party’s presidential candidate, Prof Maurice Kamto, who was a member of the Biya Government from 2004 to 2011. He was reacting to pressure in the form of attacks that were being mounted on him by MRC supporters, that, he should stand behind the candidacy of Maurice Kamto, for the 2025 presidential election.
Cabral Libii first explained that what he actually said was distorted. According to him, what he actually said was that he has doubts working with somebody who has served in the Biya regime, and then leave and join the opposition, because one does not know what the person’s real intention is. That one does not really know whether the person is serious as an opposition, or whether the person has joined the opposition to continue to secretly work for the regime, from inside the opposition.
The PCRN leader explained that part of the doubts come from the question, of whether somebody who has been a member of this regime that has ruined the country and brought untold misery to the impoverished masses, has the moral authority to return to the opposition and starts talking as a messiah that has come to save the people, and expects other opposition leaders to line up behind him. The PCRN leader admitted that he has the same doubts about the UNDP leader, Bello Bouba Maigari, as well as the FSNC leader, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, that have returned to the opposition to ‘fight’ the same regime that they were part, for many years, and did nothing at that time to take a stand in support of the suffering masses, when they were in Government.
Reaction To What Hadja Awa Said
The National President of PCRN was also asked about an allegation that the CPDM lady, Hadja Awa, who has in recent months been running her mouth in videos and audios posted on social media, said about him. She said Cabral Libii was invited to a press conference by Issa Tchiroma when he was Minister of Communication, and given 5000 FCFA, and that she had to intervene, and added another 5000 FCFA.
Cabral Libii first burst into laughter over what Hadja Awa said about 5000 FCFA. However he said on serious note, the truth is that he was in the first place not invited by the then Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, to the said press conference, and that Tchiroma did not even know him before that press conference. Cabral Libii explained that one of his longtime friend, Amand Okol, who is today one of his close collaborators in the PCRN, was the one that was invited to be in a panel of journalists that was led by Alain Belibi, who then was in CRTV. Amand Okol then was a senior journalist at LTM (Tv), which then was in Douala. Cabral Libii said he was then also into journalism, as he was Director of the Campus Radio at Yaounde II University at Soa.
Was Not Invited To The Press Conference By Minister Issa Tchiroma

Cabral Libii disclosed that at the last minute, Amand Okol could not travel to Yaounde for the press conference at the Ministry of Communication, and called him as a close friend to go and sit in his place, for it would not be good for his seat to be empty at such an occasion. He said that was how he found himself at the press conference which he initially had no plan to attend. Cabral Libii said the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma, who was seeing him for the first time, was quite impressed with his interventions at the press conference,
Cabral Libii said when Minister Tchiroma was shaking hands with journalists at the end of the press conference, he, invited him to come to his office before leaving. He said when he met Minister Issa Tchiroma in his office, he asked his name and the name of the media organ at which he was working, and expressed strong appreciation for his interventions at the press conference. He said Tchiroma then invited him to regularly come for the press conference at the Ministry of Communication.
As for the said 5000 FCFA that was allegedly given him, Cabral Libii said it could not have been true. He recalled that he sat in for his friend who was invited to come from Douala, and the ministry could not have invited somebody to travel from Douala for the press conference, and kept 5000 FCFA for him. He however did not say how much he received on behalf of his friend.
Suffice to say Cabral Libii dismissed the allegation by Hadja Awa, which insinuated that he had a relationship with Issa Tchiroma or Government, when Tchiroma was Minister of Communication.
