He pointed out that Nigeria has as many as three diplomatic missions in Cameroon, that is, the High Commission in the nation’s capital (Yaounde),   a Consulate in Douala , and another Consulate in Buea.  “This shows the importance that the Federal Republic of Nigeria attaches to the relationship with the Republic of Cameroon”, he pointed out.

The Senior Nigerian Diplomat reiterated that Nigeria and Cameroon are neighboring and sisterly countries, and cannot for whatever reason afford to fight each other. “We must never fight”, he reiterated. Visit Reflects Strong Diplomatic Relations B/W Nigeria And Cameroon

The Nigerian Consul General was happy with the general spirit of hospitality and love being manifested by Cameroonians towards   members of the Nigerian Community in Cameroon.  “Wherever I go in Cameroon, I meet warm and welcoming Cameroonians”, he said.  He prayed that the good relationship between Cameroon and Nigeria should continue to grow from strength to strength, with personalities of goodwill like Nico Halle, continuing in the good humanitarian work of constantly trying to strengthen further the relationship.

HE Francis Enya, stated that his visit to Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle on that blessed day of Tuesday, February 24, 2026, also, “reflects the strong diplomatic relationship between Cameroon and Nigeria. When issues arise between our two countries, legal minds like his, are important for guidance and advice”.

Halle’s Strong Personal Relationship With Nigerian Community

Meanwhile, on his own part, the International Legal Consultant and Crusader for Peace and Justice, Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, who also crusades against Xenophobia and Hate Speech, told the media that he was pleased and honoured to receive the Consul General of Nigeria for the Littoral and West Regions of Cameroon.  “I have received several Nigerian diplomats here over the years, because of the strong personal relationship I have with the Nigerian Community in Cameroon. Green Tree Accord

Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, the International Peace Crusader and Legal Consultant, said to him, the height of the relationship between  the two neighbouring countries, Cameroon and Nigeria,  was the Green  Tree Agreement in 2006, which was brokered by  then UN Secretary  General, KOFI ANNAN (now of blessed memory).  The Accord had to do with the peaceful resolution of the heated dispute between the two sisterly countries, Nigeria and Cameroon, overt the ownership of the oil rich Bakassi Peninsular.

“Two Heads of State – President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, and President Paul Biya of Cameroon – chose peace over war. They set aside their egos, their pride, to avoid bloodshed. As somebody who values peace, I was deeply touched by the decision. In Law, we call such an agreement a locus classicus – that is, a reference   case that other nations can learn from.  Instead of plunging their two countries into war, the two leaders chose dialogue”, the International Peace Crusader, Nico Nico Halle, pointed out.  He urged that war should never be an option to resolve any conflict between countries, cautioning that more so, when a war begins, no one knows how and when it will end. “That is why the decision that our two leaders took in 2006, to opt for peaceful resolution of the dispute, than resorting to war, must always be celebrated”, Halle stressed.

Proposed Awards To Olusegun Obansanjo And Paul Biya

Still in relation to the Green Tree Accord, the international Crusader for Peace and Justice, Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, recalled that during the 50th anniversary of the Cameroon Army, which was scheduled for Bamenda , the Northwest Regional Headquarters in 2010, he suggested that both Heads of States, Olusegun Obasanjo and  Paul Biya, should be publicly recognized for choosing peace over war.   “If the two leaders  had not acted wisely and courageously, guided by higher principles, we might have been in full – scale war today.  Peace has no price”, Halle asserted.

Peace, Harmony And Justice

However, Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, the Crusader for Peace and Justice, also asserted that there can be no real peace without justice.  “Whenever I speak about peace, I begin with justice, for justice and peace are interwoven.  We are talking here of genuine peace, and not just peace in name, or fake peace.  Justice creates a conducive environment for genuine peace, and so when there is justice in the society or between societies, genuine peace naturally follows”, Halle asserted.

Meanwhile, Nico Halle told the visiting Nigerian Diplomat that they must all continue to work towards constantly strengthening relations between Cameroon and Nigeria.  “Cameroonians and Nigerians are brothers and sisters. That is why Nigerian diplomats visit frequently, and I also welcome them warmly”, he explained.  He recalled that at one time he was honoured to receive the Nigeria High Commissioner to Cameroon, who traveled all the way from Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde. He also stated that whenever the need arises, he too always try to find time to visit the Nigerian Consulate or the High Commission.

In his concluding message, Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle told the visiting Nigerian Consul General, that: “Your Excellency, I thank you and your delegation for this visit. You can always count on my availability whenever Peace, Harmony and Justice are needed”.

How Nico Halle Ended Up Receiving Two Nigerian Consuls General

Meanwhile, during the diplomatic courtesy visit of the Consul General of Nigeria for the Littoral and West Regions, HE Francis Ntui Enya, to the office of Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, it happened that the new Consul General of Nigeria for the Southwest and Northwest Regions, HE OLABODE STEVE OJO, also coincidentally visited Douala on that day. When he called his colleague (Francis Enya), he told him that he was paying a courtesy visit to Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, a great friend of Nigeria, and directed him to join them.  So Nico Halle ended up having the unprecedented honour to receive two Consuls General of Nigeria.

Nigerian Consul General, Francis Enya, Was Born In Douala

Worthy of note as well that the current Consul General of Nigeria for the Littoral and West Regions, HE Francis Ntui Enya,  was born in Cameroon, precisely at the Laquintinie Hospital  which is  the Littoral Regional Hospital, in Douala. His parents then were settled in Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital. He did his primary and secondary education in Douala, before travelling to his native country, Nigeria, for further studies. Little could he had imagined  then, that  one day he would return to Douala, not to visit his childhood friends and the town of his birth, but rather to serve as Nigerian Diplomat, as better still, as Consul General of Nigeria  for the  Littoral and West Regions.

Francis Ntui Enya’s birth and childhood (primary and secondary education) in Douala, gave him the opportunity to learn the French language, and that gives him an advantage today as a Nigerian Diplomat who is bilingual. This was manifested during the February 24, 2026 diplomatic courtesy visit to  Sir Ntumfor  Nico Halle, when  the Nigerian Consul General was quite confortable to respond to reporters’ questions in both English and French.
