The National President of Cameroon Front, Mme Chantal Kambiwa, who is also a gender consultant and a civil society actor, has thrown her full weight behind Mme Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, the presidential candidate of the Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU), for the October 12, 2025 presidential election. Worthy of note that Tomaino Ndam Njoya who is also the leader of CDU and the current Mayor of Foumban, is the lone female candidate among the  12 presidential candidates, whose candidacies were validated by the Constitutional Council in early August.

Official Campaign Launch In Yaounde

Meanwhile, at the start of the official campaign for the October 12 presidential election on September 27, 2025, the Douala based leader of the Cameroon Front, Chantal Kambiwa, traveled to Yaounde, where she sat side –by – side with the presidential candidate of CDU, Tomaino Ndam Njoiya, at the latter’s campaign launch which took place at the esplanade of the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium. Madam Kambiwa, has since been campaigning here and there for Madam Ndam Njoya.

On Friday, October 3, 2025 for example, Chantal Kambiwa led a group of militants of the Cameroon Front, on an intensive campaign on the streets and to markets in the nation’s economic capital, Douala,t to support of the candidacy of Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya. The women had with them portraits of the presidential candidate, samples of her ballot paper, as well as flyers containing her campaign message, among others.   Madam Kambiwa also carried a portable loud speaker which she used to address the population.

It Is Time To Also Give A Woman The Chance To Govern Cameroon

Presidential candidate, Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya

The message of the leader of the Cameroon Front, Chantal Kambiwa, to the population was clear.  She argued that after decades of men’s hegemony, with the glaring failure in all aspects by the regime in place due of bad governance, it is time to try a woman at the helm of the country, it is time to bestow confidence in a woman to run the country, it is time to also give a woman the chance to run the country. She pointed out that Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, is the lone female in the list of 12 presidential candidates for the October 12 presidential election.

Madam Kambiwa explained that her support of Tomaino Ndam Njoya’s candidacy is not only because she is woman, but it is also because she has a very good propgramme for Cameroon. A programme, which she explained, include the Cameroonian youths, a programme  of social inclusion that takes  into consideration people with disabilities in the society, a programme that includes the women who are the pillars of the family and society, and so on.  She told the market women in Douala, especially the majority that are small traders operating under very difficult conditions in the markets, that only a woman can better handle the problems of women,  because as a woman she understand the problems better. Chantal Kambiwa assured that a woman also has the capacity and the heart to better run a country, because she will always think of the interest or the good of all Cameroonians. She said unlike what has been happening under men’s hegemony, there is no mother that eats and forgets any of her children, or leave any of child hungry.  She said Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, is thus the right choice to make, among the 12 presidential candidates.

Sensitization For People To Vote Wisely

Chantal Kambiwa sensitized the population, precisely those that have registered in the electoral register or whose names are on the voters’ list, that they should strive to vote wisely at the October 12, 2025 polls, by making good use of their ballot papers, that is,  by voting for Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, who is the person among the 12 presidential candidates, that has not only the capacity, but the will to bring genuine change to Cameroon, for he interest of the country and its people. Madam Kambiwa argued that women as mothers and pillars of families understand better, the terrible effects of bad governance in the country on families and on the society. She thus assured that Madam Ndam Njoya as President of the Republic will be better placed, to ensure the practice of good governance for the good of all.

Chantal kambiwa said good governance in Cameroon, will for example stop Cameroonian youths from massively leaving the country for Europe, United States, Canada and some other countries at all cost, in search of greener pastures. She cried out that quite a number of Cameroonians have unfortunately died on the high sea, while trying to get to Europe at all cost, because of the misery back at home.  Chantal Kambiwa was happy that the programme which Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya has, will among other things effectively handle the big problem of youth unemployment in the country. She said with  Mme Ndam Njoya as President of the county, Cameroonian youths will no longer be dying on the high sea, in their desperate attempts to go and seek for means to survive elsewhere.

Women Constitute The Majority Of The Population

The Cameroon Front leader, Chantal Kambiwa, told the market women that election is a matter of numbers, pointing out that women constitute over 52 % of the population of Cameroon, and thus have the power to decide who should lead the country for the good of all.  She thus argued that there is no reason why the lone female presidential candidate, Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, who in addition, so much has the interest of women at heart, should not be voted as the new President of the Republic on October 12, 2025.

Chantal Kambiwa explained to the market women, that she was not asking them to leave their different political parties to become militants of Tomaino Ndam Njoya’s party. She explained that the affair was not about political parties, but rather about votes and genuine change, which is what is important as regards the October 12 poll. She said the women should stay in their different parties, but that they should on October 12, 2025 put aside parties, and massively cast their votes for the lone and very competent female candidate on the list of 12 presidential candidates, who is Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njiya, the current Mayor of Foumban, She reiterated her calls for people to vote wisely at the October 12 polls, by voting for Madam Ndam Njioya

Mega Rally And Planning Meeting

Meanwhile during their campaign outing on Friday, October 3, 2025 in the streets and markets in Douala, Chantal Kambiwa and her team also invited the population to massively turnout for a mega campaign rally of Tomaino Ndam Njoya, that was scheduled in Douala the next day (Saturday, October 4, 2025) at  the premises of ‘Salle de Fetes” Akwa. Like at the Yaounde campaign launch on September 27, Chantal Kambiwa and Tomaino Ndam Njoya sat together at the mega rally in Douala on October 4.  The rally was heavily attended, with the large premises of “Salle de Fetes’ Akwa transformed into a sea of human beings.

The next day which was Sunday, October 5, 2025, Tomaino Ndam Njoya and Chantal Kambiwa, both attended a meeting that was organized by the national campaign team of the former, to make an evaluation of the first week of official campaign, and plan for the second and last week of the campaign, which in line with the Electoral Law will end on Saturday, October 11 at midnight.

Why Chantal Kambiya Is Supporting the Candidacy of Tomaino Ndam Njoya

Meanwhile, The Mentor News has learnt that there are three main reasons why the National President of Cameroon Front, Chantal Kambiwa, has thrown her weight behind the candidacy of Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, for the October 12, 2025 presidential election. 1) Chantal Kambiwa as aforementioned is a gender consultant. 2) Madam Kambiwa works for an NGO that encourages women’s participation in politics.. 3)  The national congress of the Cameroon Front of which  Chantal Kambiwa is National President, decided to support  a  presidential candidate  who shares the aspiration of the party, and the candidate is Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, who more so is a woman.

It should be noted that though the Cameroon Front is a young political party, the party’s leader, Chantal Kambiwa, is an old hand in politics with a very rich experience. Chantal Kambiwa is a former militant of the frontline opposition party, the Social Democratic Front, SDF, where she was a member of the National Executive Committee, NEC, for many years.
