The 2024 VAMEG International Icon Award that Nico Halle also received on February 7, 2025, takes to the record number of 193, the total awards that he has received

The February 7, 2025 occasion that held at the ultramodern conference room of the Nico Halle and Co Law Firm at Shalom Building in Bonaberi, Douala IV, was in two parts. The first part comprised of the award of the Doctorate Honoris Causa by the prestigious British American Open University of California, as well as the Global Peace Ambassador Award by UN recognized Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute.  After these awards, there was short break, followed by the second part of the occasion that saw Barrister Nico Halle receive the third award of the day, which came from the Vanguard Media Group, VAMEG. It was the: 2024 VAMEG INTERNATIONAL ICON AWARD.

The award was presented to Nico Halle by the Bamenda based Publisher of the Vanguard Newspaper, CHIFU Edward. The message on the certificate that accompanied the 2024 WAMEG International Icon Award, read:

“The certificate is proudly presented to Barrister Nico Halle in recognition of his Honourable Achievements as the winner of the 2024 VAMEC International Super Scale Icon Legal Luminary Award.

The prestigious award acknowledge his remarkable contributions to the legal profession, his uncompromising commitment to human rights, his tireless crusade for peace, and his relentless pursuit of justice. His exceptional leadership sets a high standard for a new generation of legal professionals.

Congratulations”.

It should be noted that this third award of the day, brought to a total of 193 (one hundred and ninety three), the record number of awards that Sr Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle has alone received. And as aforementioned, he has rejected a dozen others because he discovered that they were linked to pecuniary advantages.

Moral Exhortation By Bishop Emeritus Of Buea, Dr Immanuel Bushu

The presentation of the third and last award of the day, to Barrister Nico Halle, was followed by a Moral Exhortation by Bishop Emeritus Immanuel Bushu (Retired Bishop of Buea), who came all the way from Kumbo, Bui Division in the Northwest Region. The Bishop Emeritus who  said it loud and clear that the event of the day was an occasion to celebrate a giant in peace crusading in the person of Barrister Nico Halle, noted that Halle has over the years been braving all odds and standing strong in his peace crusading.  He stated that when somebody is trying to do good, the devil is always against, and so somebody needs to have a strong will – power, a strong commitment to do good to humanity and society, despite the odds, to be able to be a peace crusader for many years as Halle has done. Bishop Emeritus Bushu asserted that Nico Halle is a veritable model for others to emulate.

“Nco Halle Is Somebody Who Relentlessly Fight For The Common Good”

Some of the personalities that attended the February 7 occasion took the floor to deliver good will messages to the grand laureate, Nico Halle. One of them was a prominent notable, Ba Nkom Raymond Dinga Gwanyalla, the retied former Director of the Cameroon Customs, and former President General of the Bali Old Boys Association, BOBA (ex-students of the famous CPC Bali).  Worth noting that Nico Halle is also the current President of the Douala Chapter Of BOBA,

Meanwhile Ba Nkom Gwanyalla congratulated Sr Dr Ntumfor Nico Halle whom he always calls Ba Ntumfor, pointing out that Halle that he has known for 40 years, has done a lot for humanity and the society, and tirelessly continues to do more. He said Halle has in fact registered a very long list of admirable achievements for humanity and the society. He said it was the result of the many good works that Halle for example did to the Fons of the Northwest Region, that led the Fons to unanimously conferred on him the title of Ntumfor, and thus made him their Spokesperson. Worth noting, that a traditional ruler or chief in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, from where Nico Halle hails, is called a Fon.

Meanwhile Ba Nkom Gwanyalla as well pointed out that Nico Halle is a great family man, and a strong believer who over the years has occupied many positions in the Church. He aptly described  Nico Halle as an honest man, a man of dignity, an impartial referee as was seen for example when  Halle was a member of  the National Elections Observatory, and supervised elections for several years in  the Northwest Region which is a political hotbed. Ba Nkom Gwanyalla noted as well that Nico Halle is a very hardworking person in his Law profession and other domains, asserting that the gigantic Shalom Building at Bonaberi, Douala, which is owned by Halle, is testimony of his hard work. “Ba Ntumfor Halle is a good man, a man that relentlessly fights for common good. He has the values that one should be proud of”, Ba Nkom Gwanyalla concluded.

“The Peace Crusader Settled Many Tribal Conflicts In The Northwest Region“

The Yaounde based Publisher of The Guardian Post Newspaper, NGAH Christians, who was one of the personalities at the February 7, 2025 event, also took to the podium and gave interesting testimonies of some of Nico Halle’s humble achievements in peace crusading, as well as his strong sense of objectivity or impartiality in life. Ngah revisited the 90s when as a staff reporter of the then leading English Language newspaper, The Herald of Dr Boniface Forbin (now of blessed memory), he observed Sr Dr Ntumfor Nico Halle in his peace crusading mission settle many disputes  in the society, including disputes between Fons or traditional rulers. He added that before becoming the Ntumfor of the Northwest Fons, Nico Halle had settled quite a number of intertribal conflicts in the Northwest Region.

Ngah as well stated that when Ntumfor Nico Halle was a member of the National Election Observatory, NEO, in charge of the Northwest Region, he was very objective and courageous in the discharge of his duties.  He asserted that Ntumfor Halle was so daring to the point where people feared for his life.  Ngah recalled that though  the  Ntumfor of the Northwest Fons, Nico Halle for example ordered that all polling stations in palaces across the Northwest Region, should be taken out, for according to be Law, all polling stations are supposed to be in public places. He said Ntumfor Halle was so objective and daring in doing his work, and ensured that the Law was applied to the latter, including in his native Sub –division where there was strong resistance by elites of the ruling CPDM party.

The Publisher of Guardian Post as well stated that Nico Halle has been a close friend of the media for many years. Halle for example is the Patron of the Cameroon English Speaking Journalists Association, CAMASEJ. Ngah said because of what Nico Halle is in terms of character, Halle is one of those personalities in the country that draws a lot of media attention, to the point that whenever he is President any group, the group automatically gets a lot of media attention. He cited as examples the cases of the Ndong Awing Cultural and Development Association, NACDA, and   the Christian Men Fellowship (CMF) of the PCC that were so much in the news, at the different periods when Nico Halle was National President.

Nico Halle Is The Light That Shines For The Family

AUGUSTINE POWEGE HALLE, the junior brother of Sr Dr Ntumfor Nico Halle, who spoke at the occasion, said the name, Halle, has become a sort of popular trademark, such that when the name, Halle, is called anywhere, people all turn to look at the person. He said this is of course all thanks to Ntumfor Nico Halle. He said has actually been basking in that honour, as when he enters any place and somebody calls his name, Halle, people turn to look at him. More so, he so much resembles the big brother. Augustine Halle said he and the other siblings were constantly conscious of Ntumfor Nico Halle’s position in the society, and the honour he has brought to the family, and on their part try to do everything to protect the name in whatever they are doing. Turning to Ntumfor Nico Halle, Augustine Halle said: “Thank you very much big brother, for being the light that shines for the family”.

An Illustrious Son

His Royal Majesty Fon Fozo’o of Awing in the Northwest Region who traveled to Douala for the big event of that blessed February 7, 2025, reiterated the fact that Sr Dr Ntumfor Nico Halle is a wonderful illustrious son of the Awing Fondom or village. He was quite elated and appreciative to God, for giving his Fondom such a son. He asserted that when somebody has a son like Ntumfor Nico Halle, he is sure that he can have a sound sleep. Not the type of son that gives his father (Fon) headache and sleepless nights.  The Fon of Awing prayed God to continue to guide or lead Ntumfor Nico Halle in his several missions on earth.

The Fon of Awing also greatly appreciated Ntumfor Nico Halle for his impartiality in carrying out his work, whenever the Head of State gives him an assignment, like was the case when he was NEO member in charge of the Northwest Region. The Fon recalled that when as NEO member in charge or supervising elections in the Northwest Region, Ntumfor Nico Halle ordered that polling stations be removed from all palaces, even, the Awing Palace was not spared, as Ntumfor made sure that the polling station that was in the palace, was also removed.

“The Person Who Loves You, Is The Person Who Tells You The Truth”

Halle, laid emphasis on his conviction that an award  only means something if the awardee uses it to impact the society positively. “If you have all the awards or titles in the society, and you don’t use them to impact the world positively, it is zero. If you have all the degrees on earth and you don’t use then to impact the society positively, it is zero.  If you have money, and you don’t use it to impact the society positively, it is zero”, Halle emphasized. Talking about riches, Nico Halle who is a highly committed or dedicated Christian insisted that spiritual riches, is far more than material riches.

Nico Halle also talked on the importance of a core moral value, that is, Honesty, He strongly condemned dishonesty and hypocrisy. He lashed out at the negative or dishonest attitude in the society, whereby  many  people, including many of those who pass some Christians, shy away from telling their  friends, their bosses,  their love ones,  their family members, the truth,  because they want to please them. People tend to tell others what they know they will like to hear, instead of being honest and saying them the truth. He insisted that the best thing one can do to a friend is to tell the person the truth, even if the person feels hurt. “The person who really loves you, is the one who tells you the truth”, Halle asserted.  He said there are people that would know that somebody has done wrong, and yet they dishonestly try to defend the person by telling lies, in the name of friendship. “Shame to those people that go to Church, and yet still defend falsehood because of friendship”. Halle frowned, adding that he does not deal with crooks.

HRM Fon Fozo’o II Of Awing – A Man Of Integrity

Turning to the HRM Fon Fozo’o II of Awing, Ntumfor Nico Halle showered praises on the Fon for being a man of integrity and honour, which makes all good intentioned sons and daughters of Awing Fondom, to be proud of their traditional ruler and father. Halle was proud to point out that since his enthronement over 25 years ago,  Fon Fozo’o II has stayed out of partisan politics, and thus has maintained his honorable  role as Father of all Awing sons and daughters. He said because of the neutrality of  Fon Fozo’o in dirty  partisan politics, as well as his moral  uprightness, the  Fon has been living in his palace and  with his people in  the village without any problem, since the Anglophone Crisis erupted.  “His Majesty Fon Fozo’o II of Awing is one of the few Fons in the Northwest Region that has been living with his people since the crisis started.  He is not like those other Fons that have been gallivanting and playing into the hands of politicians”.

Dedication Of Awards

Meanwhile, Sr Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle who earlier dedicated the Doctorate Honoris Causa Award conferred on him by the prestigious British American Open University of California, first to God, and then to his immediate family (wife and Children), dedicated the Global Peace Ambassador Award from Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute  to journalists. He called on journalists to use the award to preach peace in the society and the world at large, and should while doing so lay emphasis on the fact that there can be no genuine peace without justice.  Halle dedicated the third award of the day, the 2024 WAMEG International Icon Award, to all Cameroonians, especially peace loving Cameroonians.

Sr Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle concluded his speech by assuring that as long as he lives, he will, despite all odds, never relent in his Crusade for Peace and Justice, as well as his Fight Against Corruption, Hate Speech and Xenophobia, all to God’s Glory.

The Most Needed Encouragement

To this, Nico Halle received the most precious and reassuring encouragement. His dear wife, JUSTINE HALLE, quoting the great William Shakespeare who asserted that Men Are Led By Toys, handed over a bouquet of flowers to her Dear Husband, Nico Halle,  and said: “I am giving you this, today, as an encouragement”. As is often said, behind any successful man, is woman. Nico Halle himself always says that if a man’s wife is against something he is wants to do or is doing, the man will hardly succeed.

Worthy of note that the second part of the event was witnessed among many, by the visiting African Representative of the prestigious British American Open University of California, Professor Peace E. EDOSEN, who is also the Chancellor of the UN recognized Peace international Interdisciplinary Research  Institute, PIIRI Abuja.
