Bamenda Road Project: The Bridge At MISS NGENG JUNCTION To Be Demolished, Starting Saturday, January 24, 2026.

The Road Construction Company, BUNS, That is Carrying Out The Road Reconstruction Project In Bamenda, Has In A Communiqué Indicated  Routes That Will Serve As A Detour To Vehicles And Bikes,  During  The Period For  The Reconstruction Of The Bridge At MISS NGENG JUNCTION, Estimated To Last Two  Months.

BUNS, the road construction company that is carrying out the very important project for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of the dilapidated Bamenda Road Network,  has in a communiqué signed by the Project Director, NGONG Ignatius , announced the  demolishing  of the bridge at the area  popularly known as MISS NGENG JUNCTION , as from Saturday, January 24, 2026. The old bridge is to be demolished and a new one reconstructed. The road construction company estimates that the reconstruction works will last for a period of two months.

In the face of this situation, BUNS has in the communiqué also indicated routes that will serve as a detour to vehicles and bikes during the period of the reconstruction of the bridge at Miss Ngeng Junction.  Vehicles coming towards the Veterinary Junction from the direction of  Bemenda Central  Town, and heading towards Nkwen or Up Station, will at the Veterinary Junction area, divert through New Layout, and come out around the Finance Junction,  or  opposite Mbingo Annex.  Vehicles coming from the direction of Mile 2 Nwen  or UP Station, and heading to  central town, will divert at the Finance Junction through New Layout, and come out at the Veterinary Junction.  It is the same thing for motorcycles and tricycles.  There is also another  route available to motorcycles, taxis and tricycles from  Ngeng Junction,  passing near  the plank planning workshop , to New Layout or Veterinary junction, and vice versa.

Meanwhile the construction company has appealed to road users, to respect the temporary traffic signs put in place, as well  as follow the indicated detour / diverted routes, and exercise caution when driving in the area.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: TEMPORARY TRAFIIC DETOUR

The public is hereby informed that the bridge located at  MISS NGENG , will be demolished  starting Saturday, January 24, 2026, as part of ongoing urban crossing infrastructure works in Bamenda  Town.

Due to this operation, vehicles coming  towards VETERINARY JUNCTION , will divert through NEW LAYOUT, and vehicles coming from MILE 2 NKWEN and UP – STATION, will divert through FINANCE  JUNCTION  entering through NEW LAYOUT,  and head towards VETERINARY JUNCTION.

Moto-cycles, Taxi, Tri-Cycles and Foot Path is available from NGENG JUNCTION, passing towards the planning machine workshop, and back to New Layout or Veterinary Junction.

 The reconstruction works will last for an estimated period of two (2) months, after which the bridge will be reopened to traffic at the end of its construction phase.

All road users are kindly requested to:

  • Respect the temporary traffic signs put in place.
  • Follow the indicated detour / diverted routes.
  • Exercise caution when driving in the area.
