REV. FATHER TATAH MBUY Confers Noble Title, SIR, on NICO HALLE, For Having Done Much For Society
NICO HALLE Cautions Northwest People That If They Do Not Take Care Of Their Fons, Politicians Will Take Advantage, Use Them, And Dump Them
HRM FON FOZO’O II of Awing in Santa Sub–division, Mezam Division of the Northwest Region, has expressed profound gratitude to an illustrious son of the Fondom, NTUMFOR BARRSITER NICO HALLE, a reputed Peace and Justice Crusader, an International Legal Consultant and an Agent of Development, for all what he has done and continues to do for the village (Awing), the nation (Cameroon), as well as for humanity in terms of development, peace crusading among others.
.Fon Fozo’o II of Awing was speaking at the Quadruple Award Event which held at the ultramodern conference room of the Nico Halle & Co Law Firm in the Shalom Building (owned by the Nico Halle family) at Bonaberi, Douala, Littoral Region, on Friday, April 19, 2024. As seen from the name of the event, it was a historic event at which Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle received four awards in one day. The great event was perfectly coordinated by BARRISTER VANESSA HALLE FONGUH, with BARRISTER JOHN HALLE, playing the MC.
Meanwhile Fon Fozo’o II of Awing, in the address at the occasion, said he travelled to Douala for the event to personally thank Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle for all what he has been doing in community development as well as the socio – cultural development of the Awing Fondom, and to also encourage him to continue with that very positive spirit. He urged all people of good will to put Ntumfor Nico Halle in their prayer.
Fon Fozo’o II – A Non Partisan Fon
It is interesting to note that Fon Fozo’o II of Awing is one of the few Northwest Fons (traditional rulers) that did not flee his palace to take up temporal residence in Yaounde or Douala, because of the Anglophone Crisis. He has been living in the village with his people, since the escalation of the Anglophone Crisis. He only travels out of the village for visits and return to the village. One of the main reasons why Fon Fozo’o II of Awing, who is an engineer by training has succeeded to stay back in the village even in the face of the escalation of the Anglophone Crisis, is that for the 25 years that he has been on the throne, he has wisely followed the good advice of those who mean good to him and the Awing Fondom, and stay out of partisan politics. So all sons and daughters of Awing rightly see or consider Fon Fozo’o II as their father, and do all to protect and support him. The story would certainly have been different if the traditional ruler had indulged himself in partisan politics by unwisely becoming a militant of a political party.
The Title Of SIR Conferred On Barrister Nico Halle
Meanwhile the Chairman of the Quadruple Award Event, REV FATHER TATAH MBUY, a Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, asserted that the people who gathered at the Quadruple Award Event on the blessed day April 19, 2024, were there to congratulate and encourage Barrister Nico Halle who has over the years been doing a lot for humanity and the society. He said Halle is, “someone I would, without hesitation give any amount of academic honours, to, not because he has become a high priest of the academia, but because he has come to realise that an intellectual is not known and respected by the colourful design of his academic robe or by the number of titles before and after his name”. Rev Tatah Mbuy said an intellectual is rather somebody who is able to transform knowledge into the improvement of the human person and his society as Nico Halle has constantly been doing over the years.
Tatah Mbuy asserted that in the typical Anglo – Saxon Culture, when one has achieved much for society and humanity, he is given the noble title, SIR. “So, I would like with your permission to confer on this brother of ours, the title Sir, Nico Halle, Barrister at Law”, Rev Tatah Mbuy declared amidst a standing ovation. He thus said Barrister Nico Halle should henceforth be known as SIR NICO HALLE.

Ntumfor Halle said a good Fon or traditional ruler should be honest, loving, peaceful, development or progress oriented, be fatherly, be of exemplary behaviour, hardworking, neutral, and above all God fearing. He rejoiced at the fact that the Fon Fozo’o II of Awing is what he termed, spiritual, and is a good father to his subjects. “The Fon is our father. He deserves to be taken care of.
