Another law suit has been filed at the Mezam High Court in Bamenda against the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, by the same plaintiffs of another ongoing case against the CBC at the same court. This new law suit is actually the third by the same plaintiffs. It would be recalled the Mezam High Court threw out the first case, but the plaintiffs immediately filed a second case, and have added the third.
The information that another court case has been filed against the CBC, is contained in a correspondence or message addressed to all Christians of the CBC at home and abroad, by the Executive President of the CBC , REV DR. NDITEMEH CHARLEMAGNE MBELUH, dated August 30, 2024.
The Mentor News publishes the message of the CBC Executive President, in its entirety below:
FROM THE EXECUTIVE PRESIENT, CAMEROON BAPTIST CONVENTION
TO: ALL CHRISTIANS OF THE CAMEROON BAPTIST CONVENTION AT HOME AND ABROAD
Subject: ADDITIONAL (THIRD) COURT CASE AGAINST CBC LEADERSHIP AND THE CBC.
Dear brethren in Christ of the CBC,
In bringing fraternal salutations to you this day in the name of our omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent Lord Jesus Christ, it is my gruesome duty to inform you that a new court case (the third) has been filed in the Mezam High Court against the CBC. This time around, the CBC Chairman has been surprisingly removed from the third suit.
The plaintiffs are the traditional plaintiffs of the preceding court case, i.e, the same three. The charges are titanic but can be well summarized as a recycling of the charges in the previous case with alternative words, and with much details: illegality of June 2023 Extraordinary General Session, illegality of the adoption of the 2023 Constitution (by 809 delegates against 139), etc. The new element in the third case is the prayer of the three plaintiffs that the court should stop the holding of the Decentralized Elective General Session in November 2024.
The lead lawyer of the plaintiffs remains, and is verifiably reported to be a Church member or worshiper of a CBC local Church in a CBC filed.
The first hearing for the third case is set for the same day that the adjournment of the second case was set for, namely, 3 SEPTEMBER 2024. On that day therefore, the CBC Executive President, the CBC Chairman and the CBC will answer present for the second case, and the CBC Executive President and the CBC will answer present for the third case. We are already bracing up for the fourth case (if it may already be in preparation by the plaintiffs) with joy and thanksgiving to God. All these are nothing to compare with the court experiences of Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles. Pray for us. Together we stand in the faith walk and work.
NDITEMEH CHARLEMAGNE MBELUH (REV. DR.). CBC EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT
