Amidst Rumours Of Leakage of 2023 GCE: Six Examination Officials Suspended By Registrar Of GCE Board

Amidst rumours that have been making their rounds on social media that there have been several leakages in the ongoing 2023 session of the General Certificate Examination; GCE, the Registrar of the GCE Board, Dang Akuh Dominic, on June 9, 2023, signed a Decision, Ref 000127/2023/GCEB/EO – FE / R, that suspended a total of six examination officials, including the Chief of Centre of GBHS Isangele Accommodation Centre No. 11233, in Ndian Division of the Southwest Region.

The GCE Board Registrar in the correspondence noted that his Decision was based on confidential reports from the Administrative Authorities of Ndian on June 7, 2023, and the report of the Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education for Ndian, on June 9, 2023. He also indicated in his correspondence that the Decision to suspend the examination official was taken pending the deliberations of the Examination Executive Committee, EEC.

Considering the sensitive nature of the issue, THE MENTOR presents the details (below) of the Decision which was signed by the Registrar of the GCE Board on June 9, 2023, in his own words as follows:

The Registrar of the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Board hereby decides:

Article 1: The following Examination Officials of GBHS Isangele Accommodation Centre No. 11233 are hereby suspended from participating in all GCE examination sessions as from today Friday, 9 June 2023. They are: Mr TABOT ELIOT TANKA, Chief of Centre and five other examination officials namely: OSANG MBOTE LAWRENCE, ABOKO FELIX, NKENGFACK GREGORY, ANJEH PAUL, NGUESSA FRED.

Article 2: TABOTELIOT TANA is hereby replaced with immediate effect by: Chief of Centre – Mr MICHAEL MBANDO, Mle 740322 –L, Senior Disciplinary Master in GTC Akwa Bakassi.

Article 3: The Liaison Officer of the GCE Board, Mrs Ophilia Mobia Ngomo, Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education for Ndian is charged, in collaboration with Law Enforcement officers on the spot, with the immediate implementation of the provision of this Decision.

The authorities copied by the Registrar of the GCE Board included the Governor of the Southwest Region, the SDO of Ndian, and the Liaison Officer /DDSE – Ndian.

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the GCE Board in his correspondence did not state the fault or faults that the six examination officials committed to be slammed the sanction. However, your guess is good as mine.
