In The Last Couple Of Years, There Were Reports Of The Presence Of Over 11 Million Illegal Immigrants In The United States
Donald Trump Administration That Came To Power On January 20, 2025, Had Since Launched A Campaign Promise – A No-Nonsense Crackdown On Illegal Immigration.
“People Considering The Dangerous Journey To Enter The United States Illegally, Needs To Understand That Their Safety – And Their Lives – Are At Risk”. U.S Embassy Warns
“Our Message Is Simple – Make The Right Choice, Obey The Law, And Do Not Put Your Safety, Your Family, And Your Future At Risk”, U.S. Embassy Strongly Advices Cameroonians
The United States Embassy in Cameroon has put out a much appreciated article meant to sensitize Cameroonians on the dangers of illegal immigration to the United States of America. The Embassy has strongly advised against any attempt to embark on an illegal immigration adventure to the United States, warning that the country is cracking down on illegal immigration. The article is signed by the U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E Christopher J. LAMORA.
The United States Embassy in the article asserts that thousands of Cameroonians travel to the United States every year legally, and thus have no problem. But the Embassy cautions that any attempt to migrate illegally to the United States is dangerous, and poses significant risks to the individual. “If you try to enter the United States illegally, lie to obtain a visa, work without legal authorization, or remain in the United States after the end of your authorized stay, you will face severe penalties. These could include imprisonment, deportation, and permanent ban on obtaining visa in the future”, the Embassy warns.
The U.S. Embassy has also stressed on the several risks, including risk to lives that persons who try to migrate to the United States illegally, do face on the way. “Every year, hundreds, if not thousands of migrants from around the world die while crossing deserts, seas, or other dangerous terrain in an attempt to reach the United States. In addition, criminal groups, cartels, and human traffickers target undocumented migrants, subjecting them to violence, extortion, and assault. Many of those who attempt the journey never reach their destinations”, the U.S. Embassy asserts.
The United States Embassy has thus rightly cautioned that attempting to migrate illegally to the United States or violating U.S. Immigration Law far outweigh the potential benefits. The Embassy states that their message to Cameroonians as regards immigration to the United States is that, anybody who wants to travel to the county should make the right choice by obeying the Law, by following the right or legal process, and not put their safety and that of their family as well as their future at risk.
Donald Trump’s Administration Launches War Against Illegal Immigration
Meanwhile it should be noted that in the last couple of years, there were several complaints in the United States of America, that there were over 11 million undocumented immigrants, that is, illegal immigrants in the country, and amongst who were also criminals. At the campaign for the last presidential election in the United States, the candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, repeatedly made firm declarations and promises to the American people, that one of his major missions if voted to power, would be to launch a no –sense war against illegal immigrants and illegal immigration. He promised that he would start the deportation of illegal immigrants especially those with criminal records, on day one of his presidency.
Last November, Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States. The election also showed that the American people had endorsed his programme for a massive deportation of illegal immigrants as well as for the intensification of the fight against illegal immigration to the United States. Shortly after he was sworn into office as President of the United States on January 20, 2025, Donald Trump on the same day signed Executive Orders to launch his fight against iillegal immigration. The vast operation to track down and deport illegal immigrants from the United States has since been on, with the US border also much tightened to keep away illegal migrants, though members of the Democratic Party in the United States have been expressing concern at the way in which he operation is being carried out by the Trump Administration.
A few weeks ago, CNN for example reported on a case of some illegal immigrants from a number of countries including Afghanistan and Cameroon that were bundled out of the United States and dumped in a Central American country, instead of taking them to their different countries of origin. A Cameroonian lady in the group strongly condemned the deportation, and also cried out that they were stranded in that Central American country, without any means to return to their different countries.
The United States Welcomes Those Who Come To The Country, Legally
Meanwhile President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the U.S Administration is not against people of other countries coming to the United States legally, but that the administration is rather against illegal immigration. The President has called on all illegal immigrants in the United States, to go back to their countries. He says if they want to return to the United States, they should obtain the necessary requirements and come to the United States legally, and would be welcomed.
MEANWHILE BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY IS THE ARTICLE PUT OUT BY THE UUNITED STATES EMBASSY, SIGNED BY THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO CAMEROON, HE CHRISTOPHER J. LAMORA:
Don’t Risk Your Future: The United States Is Cracking Down On Illegal Immigration.
By Christopher J. Lamora, U.S Ambassador to Cameroon
Strict Enforcement Of Immigration Laws Is A Top Priority For The U.S. Government
The U.S. Embassy in Cameroon would like to share guidance to help prospective visitors to our country avoid violating U.S. Immigration Laws, which carries consequences.
Thousands of Cameroonians travel to the United States legally each year for vacation, work, or studies. Attempting to immigrate illegally, however, is dangerous and poses significant risks to your well – being or even your life. If you try to enter the United States illegally, lie to obtain a visa, work without legal authorization, or remain in the United States after the end of your authorized stay, you will face severe penalties. These could include imprisonment, deportation, and a permanent ban on obtaining a U.S. visa in the future.
U.S Visa Fraud Has Serious Consequences
The U.S. visa process is one of the most secure in the world. Yet, some individuals still attempt to cheat the system by using false documents, being dishonest in their applications, or remaining past the date of their authorized stay. These are examples of visa fraud, and are serious offenses. If you break the Law in this way, you will be punished and will not be allowed to enter the United States again.
Entering Or Remaining Illegally Is Risky And Can Lead To Arrest
Some people believe they can sneak into the United States without being caught. That is not the case.
In February 2025, illegal border crossings fell by 94 % compared to February 2024, while arrest of people who had entered the United States increased six fold. If you attempt to cross the U.S. border illegally or remain in the United States unlawfully, you will be arrested, detained and deported. You may also be barred from returning to the country or face fines and criminal prosecution.
By securing our borders, we also prevent the suffering caused by the illegal immigration. People considering the dangerous journey to enter the United States illegally need to understand that their safety– and their very lives – are at risk. Every year, hundreds, if not thousands of migrants from around the world die while crossing deserts, seas, or other dangerous terrain in an effort to reach the United States. In addition, criminal groups, cartels, and human traffickers target undocumented migrants, subjecting them to violence, extortion, and assault. Many of those who attempt the journey never reach their destination.
The U.S. Government is also taking action against those who help others to enter the country illegally. Recently, the United States announced a new visa restriction policy targeting foreign officials – including immigration, customs, and port authority personnel – who fail to stop illegal immigration. This measure builds on similar restriction placed on individuals working in the transportation and tourism sectors. Those who turn a blind eye or profit from putting vulnerable people in danger are not welcome in our country.
The Choice Is Clear – Follow The Law
The risk associated with attempting to migrate illegally to the United States or violating U.S. immigration Law, far outweigh any potential benefits. You can lose your life, fall victim to criminals, or jeopardize your future and that of your family.
Out message is simple – make the right choice, obey the Law, and do not put your safety, your family, or your future at risk.
