EWANE ROLAND, the Divisional Officer, DO, of Idabato Sub –division, Ndian Division in the Southwest Region of Cameroon, was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1, 224. Idabato is in the Bakassi area, and thus close to the banks of the Atlantic Ocean.

According to the SDO of Ndian, the DO was abducted together with a staff of the Idabato Municipal Council, ETONGO ISMAEL, at about 2.15am, on this fateful day of October 1, by unknown gunmen, or better still by an unidentified armed group as the DO puts in. They were whisked off in a speed boat towards Nigeria.  There is no detail as yet, as to how the operation took place.

Cameroonian authorizes have appealed to the Nigeria counterparts, to, within the framework of  cross – border  cooperation  between their two sisterly countries, try to take prompt and appropriate measures to track down the kidnappers, and rescue the two victims. Nothing credible has been heard so far from the yet unknown armed group that abducted the DO of Idebato, and the council worker early today, though some unconfirmed information has as expected been circulating on  the social media. The abducted Sub –divisional Officer of Idabato,  Ewane Roland, hails from Kupe Muanenguba  Division in the Southwest Region.
