SEYDOU KEITA’S 14 Billion FCFA Agro –Industrial Complex Is Fully Operational

  The agro – industrial complex which has six different industrial units, has provided jobs to several hundreds of Malian Youths

The Malian football legend and multibillionaire, says the project is his own contribution to the industrial development of his country

SEYDOU KEITA who was captain of Mali’s national football team, played professional football in a number of top European clubs, especially FC Barcelona where he left an indelible mark

The 14 billion francs CFA agro –industrial complex of Malian football legend, Seydou Keita, that was inaugurated last year, is fully operational and providing jobs to several hundreds of Malian youths.  The industrial complex is comprised of six industrial units that produce packaged beef, soap, flour (wheat), cooking oil (Soja oil), among others.

It would be recalled that before the inauguration of the multi-billion agro –industrial complex last year, Seydou Keita was officially received as an investor by the President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi Goita, with all the honours he deserved  He was accompanied to the Presidency by Malian‘s Minister of Industries. The President, that saluted Seydou Keita as a great Malian patriot, received him accompanied by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Animal Husbandry.

Contribution To The Development Of Mali

Speaking to the State media at the end of the visit to the Presidency, Seydou Keita said the agro – industrial complex was his own contribution to the industrial development of his country, as well as his own contribution to provide jobs to Malian youths. Economists are unanimous that the agro – industrial complex comprised of six industrial units, is a significant contribution to the realization of the Malian Government’s import –substitution policy.

Football Legend / Former FC Barcelona Star

Meanwhile the football legend, Seydou Keita, played professional football in a number of clubs in Europe, especially in FC Barcelona in Spain, where he made his mark as a great footballer player.  In an interview a few months ago with Canal + in France, that was conducted by the former Coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Claude Le Roy, another African football legend, Samuel Eto’o Fils, said there was a time that Seydou Keita deserved to have been awarded the trophy of best player of  the world (‘Ballon d”Or’). Eto’o was of the opinion that Keita was not awarded the trophy, just because he was African. It should be noted that Seydou Keita who won the African Footballer of the year award, given by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, was the Captain of  the Mali’s national football team for a number of years.
