School Administration Holds That The Student Died After Suffering From A Malaise, While The Parents Insist That She Died From Sexual Violence She Was Allegedly Subjected To, In The School Toilet. There continue to be lots of controversies, confusion, and unanswered questions over the tragic death of 12 year old Ozanne Essoe Moukoko, student of ‘College de la Salle’, Douala, which occurred on Friday, September 18, 2026. It should be noted that ‘College de la Salle, which is one of the biggest technical college in the Littoral Region, is a Catholic institution. When the incident occurred, many people erroneously thought that ‘College de la Salle’, was a public or government school. That could however be understood, considering that the name of the institution, does not sound or look like one of the Catholic institutions in the country.
Meanwhile, one of the major problems over the dead of the teenager, Ozanne Essoe Moukoko, is that there were initially three different versions of the story, as to how and where the 12 year old student, died. One of the versions was that Ozanne Moukoko, was found dead at the school toilet. A second version was that she was found unconscious at the school toilet, and that when she was rushed to the hospital, precisely to the Laquintinie Hospital (Littoral Regional Hospital), she was confirmed dead. This meant that she died before reaching the hospital, or better still, that she did not die at the hospital.
The third version, which is what the administration of ‘College del la Salle’ holds, is that the young Ozanne Moukoko was found unconscious in the school toilet, rushed to Laquintinie Hospital, and that she died at the hospital. The first version which came out that Ozanne died at the school toilet, has now fizzled out. She was found unconscious in the school toilet.
Big Disagreement Over The Cause Of The Death Of Ozanne Moukoko
The biggest problem or question over the death of Late Ozanne Essoe Moukoko, is the real cause of her death. The administration of ‘College de la Salle’, which so far has not issued any official communiqué on the death, has through sources s allege that the student (Ozanne) was earlier that week sick, and that she suffered from a malaise when she visited the toilet in school, at the end of classes on that fateful day (Friday, September 18, 2026). That she fell unconscious and was rushed to the Laquintinie Hospital, where she died. So according to the school administration, the young Ozanne died from a natural cause.
Bu, the family of late Ozanne Essoe Moukoko, especially the father, have minced no words in their insistence that she did not die of natural cause, but rather from sexual violence at the school (‘College de la Salle’). The father of late Ozanne, declared to journalists during the visit of the Littoral Governor, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua , on Tuesday, September 22, that though the child had some little health problem a few days earlier, she got fine, and resumed classes , and that she left home on Friday, September 18 with no problem. There was also no report that she showed any signs of ill health, through out that day in class.
Late Ozanne Moukoko’s father declared to the media in the presence of the Governor, that her daughter died from sexual violence, and denounced any attempt to cover the truth. He vowed that he would stop at nothing, to ensure that truth prevails over the real cause of the death of his beloved daughter.
Ozanne Moukoko Started At A Government College
Interestingly enough, the father of late 12 year Ozanne Moukoko, disclosed that her daughter started her secondary education in a Government Technical College. He said some people told him that it was better to instead send the child to a mission school, where they said there was better security, as compared to public schools. The father said he was very concerned with his young daughter’s security, especially with the increasing cases of infanticide due to sexual violence. He said he listened to the advice, and so removed his young daughter from the government college, and registered her in a Catholic mission college, “College de la Salle” (a day school), only for her to be subjected to sexual violence (alleged sexual violence) in the school, resulting to her tragic death.
The Last Time Ozanne Moukoko Was Seen On Her Feet
Meanwhile, the last time that the 12 year old Ozanne Essoe Moukoko was seen on her feet, was at the end of classes, at 4 pm on that fateful day (Friday, September 18). When classes ended at 4 pm, Ozanne left her class, and was seen in the company of two boys, descending the stairs. It not clear, whether the two boys were classmates of Ozanne who was in Form 2, or they were bigger boys in the school. Meanwhile, when Ozanne and the two boys moved down stairs, they reportedly moved towards a small and long building behind the classrooms, in which are found over a dozen toilets.
Up to that point, both the administration and the parents of the Ozanne agree that was what happened, based on the information that they separately gathered from students. But the disagreement between the school administration, and late Ozannne Moukoko’s family, is whether the two boys that were with Ozanne, entered the toilet with her, or not. The school administration insists that the two boys stopped at the entrance of the toilet, and so did not enter the toilet with Ozanne. But late Ozanne’s family disagrees, insisting that t the two boys allegedly followed her into the toilet, and were apparently the persons that violently raped her. This is the main reason why Ozanne’s family believes her death was a result of sexual violence.
The problem here is that though some students saw Ozanne and the two boys move towards the toilet, nobody paid attention as to see whether the three entered the toilet together. For one thing, classes had just ended for the day, and so the movement of students was mainly towards the opposite direction, precisely to the main gate of the fenced school compound, to return home.
Why Did The Two Boys Follow Ozanne Towards The Toilet?
But there are questions or doubts as to how the two boys could have gone with Ozanne right to the entrance into the toilet building, and not enter. Why did they follow her up to the entrance into the toilet, in the first place? If they did not enter the toilet with Ozanne, what exactly did they do when she entered the toilet?
But, there is also the question as to how Ozanne could have been subjected to sexual violence, to the point of being unconscious in a school toilet, without crying or without somebody noticing. The school administration also claims that when Ozanne was found unconscious, her dress (uniform), and that there was no sign that she had been raped.
It should be noted that the school administration says it was another student (female), who discovered Ozanne unconscious in one of toilets, and alerted the Discipline Master. After Ozanne was found unconscious in the school toilet, the Discipline Master carried her to the school dispensary, but the health workers there said her situation was beyond what they could handle, and proposed that she be rushed to the Laquintinie Hospital.
Surveillance Cameras Were Not Functioning
The thing that could have easily provided a credible response to the question, as to whether or not the two boys that went with Ozanne towards the school toilet, actually entered the building with her, is the surveillance cameras. ‘College de la Sale” had installed surveillance cameras. But scandalously enough, the camera that covers the area between the classroom buildings and the entrance of the toilet building was not functioning, more so in the month of September, which is the beginning of the new academic year. One can even question the type of preparations that the administration of ‘College de la Salle’, carried out for the beginning of the new academic year, that they did not carry out the maintenance of the security or surveillance cameras, especially at this time of increasing criminality or crime wave, including ape and infanticide, in the country
Governor Announced Investigation Into The Death Of Ozanne Essoe Moukoko
Meanwhile, at the end of the visit of Littoral Governor, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua, to ‘College de la Salle’ and the residence of the parents of late Ozanne on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, he announced that a judicial investigation has been opened into the death of the 12 year old Form 2 Student of ‘College de la Salle’, Ozanne Essoe Moukoko. The Governor, who insisted that only the investigation will establish the real cause of the death of the young Ozanne, also disclosed that the investigation was taking place both inside and outside the school. The Governor called on the population to stay calm and wait for the result of the investigation.
It should be noted that the Governor of the Littoral Region, is so far the only authority that has made a public statement in Douala, on the death of Ozanne Essoe Moukoko, the 12 year student of ‘College de la Salle’, who died on September 18, 2026.
