October 12, 2025 Presidential Election: CABRAL LIBII Insists That An Opposition Candidate, Can Win The Election, Without Being A Single Or Consensus Candidate

Hon LIBII Criticizes People With Defeatist Mentality, Who Are Propagating Messages That Only A Single Or Consensus Candidate Of The Opposition, Can Win The Election. He says They Are Causing Distraction, And Discouraging Cameroonians From Voting
PCRN Officials, Remain Firm, That Their Party, In The Fight For Change, Cannot Work With President BIYA’S Former Ministers (BELLO BOUBA, ISSA TCHIROMA, MAURICE KAMTO)

Hon Cabral Libii Ngue, PCRN’s National President as well as the party’s presidential candidate for the October 12, 2025 presidential election in Cameroon, has insisted that an opposition candidate can, without being a single opposition candidate, or the consensus candidate of an opposition coalition, still win the October 12 presidential election, if only the over eight million Cameroonians that have registered, massively turn on election day to vote.
In a new video message addressed to the Cameroonian people, especially the youths, Cabral Libii, who continues to be very much inspired by the 2024 Senegalese example, pointed out that last year in Senegal, a youthful candidate of his age group, came from nowhere and succeeded to win the presidential election, without being a single opposition candidate. He stated that there were as many as 17 candidates in the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, which it should be recalled, took place on March 24.
It should be noted that the youthful candidate in the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, whose name the PCRN leader did not mention in his video, is Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who was backed by his political mentor, Ousmane Sonko. Also worth noting that Diomaye Faye is the current President of Senegal, while Ousmane Sonko is Prime Minister of Senegal.
High Voters’ Participation Rate

Meanwhile, Hon Cabral Libii noted that the said youthful candidate, in the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, faced heavy weights that included three former Prime Ministers, two former ministers, two city mayors (including the Mayor of Dakar), a former General Manager of Customs, three professors, and so on. Yet, the youthful candidate won. He said more so, the youthful candidate won the presidential election in Senegal in the first round; in a country where unlike Cameroon has a two round presidential election. This meant that despite the participation of as many as 17 candidates, and also despite the presence of several heavy weights in the presidential election, the youthful candidate was still able to win majority votes in the first round.
Cabral Libii said the reasons for the victory of the youthful candidate in the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, were simple – the determination of the Senegalese people to vote for genuine change, and the heavy turnout of registered voters at the polls to vote for change. He noted that voters’ participation rate at the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, was as high as 85 %, and reiterated the importance of popular or massive mobilization of voters to the polls on the day of the election, to vote for change.
Distraction, Discouragement, Defeatist Mentality
The PCRN leader and presidential candidate, Hon Cabral Libii, thus stressed the fact that if the Cameroonian people are determined for have change, and the over eight million registered voters massively turn out at the polls on October 12, when the 2025 presidential election in Cameroon is scheduled to hold, a candidate of the opposition will certainly win the election.
Cabral Libii regretted that instead of encouraging Cameroonians that have registered on the voters’ list to mobilize for a massive turnout at the polls on October 12, like happened on March 24, 2024 in Senegal, some persons and groups with defeatist mentality, are instead causing distraction and discouraging people from going to vote. He said this is being done by the propagation of misleading messages, that only a single opposition candidate, or a consensus candidate of an opposition coalition, can win the October 12, 2025 presidential election in Cameroon.
Hon Cabral Libii, urged the Cameroonian people not to listen or pay attention to distractions and discouragement propaganda, but to rather stand determined for genuine change in 2025, and bestow their confidence in him who is a veritable alternative for genuine change in Cameroon, by massively casting their votes for his modest candidature at the October 12, 2025 presidential election.
PCRN Did Not Ignore Invitation Of Foumban Group

Meanwhile, the PCRN leader explained that contrary the false information written on the social media by some detractors, the PCRN did not ignore the invitation that was sent to the party, by the initiator of the opposition group commonly known as Foumban Group, Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, CDU leader and presidential candidate, to the meeting that held in Foumban. Cabral Libii disclosed that when PCRN received the invitation, the party responded in writing to Madam Ndam Njoya, to explain why the party would not be present at the meeting, and also proposed possible ways in which they could collaborate for the October 12 presidential election. He said Madam Ndam Njoya acknowledged reception of the PCRN correspondence by a telephone call, and promised to get back to the party for a possible discussion on the proposals that the party made.
President Biya’s Former Ministers

Meanwhile PCRN officials have remained firm on the decision that their party cannot work in the fight for change, with President Biya’s former ministers now back in the opposition, who include Bello Bouba Maigari of UNDP, Issa Tchiroma Bakary of FSNC and Maurice Kamto.
It would be recalled that some months back, that was before Bello Bouba and Issa Tchiroma Bakary resigned from Government, Cabral Libii had in the face of strong criticisms, intimidations and attacks on social media by MRC militants, as their own adopted strategy to mount pressure on him and his PCRN to declare support for Maurice Kamto’s candidacy for the 2025 presidential election, made his position clear. He declared that he cannot in the fight for change, stand behind somebody that has been a member of the same Biya Government that has ruined the country.
Worth noting that that the PCRN is the only major opposition party, whose leader or senior party officials, did not rush to meet with the UNDP leader, Bello Bouba Maigari, or the FSNC leader, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, or both, following their recent resignation from Government, and return to the opposition. In the regular panel discussion on Sundays over Vision 4 Tv in Yaounde, the representative of PCRN in the programme of Sunday, August 31, 2025, who coincidentally was a Moslem, minced no words in the response to ta question, that PCRN cannot collaborate with either Bello Bouba or Issa Tchiroma in the October 12 presidential election. He said it was totally unacceptable to PCRN which is out for genuine change in Cameroon, and not for a simple change of persons, that somebody that has been a member of the Biya government for over 25 years, and thus has been part of the regime that has ruined this country, should a few months to a crucial presidential election, leave the government and call on the downtrodden, impoverished or suffering Cameroonian people, to vote him President of the Republic.
Worth noting, that the representative of UNDP in the panel discussion over Vision 4 Tv on Sunday, August 31, in reaction simply said that the UNDP is open to any party that wants to join them to work together for the presidential election. She stressed that UNDP is a national party, and said people have been leaving other parties in their hundreds in the last two months to join UNDDP as recently happened in the Northwest and West Regions, because they recognize the party’s leader and presidential candidate, Bello Bouba, as a great Statesman and great party leader.
