Africa Global Logistics And The Directorate General Of Customs, Join Hands In Sensitization Campaign Against Corruption

Africa Global Logistics, AGL, is the leading multimodal logistic operator, an affiliate of MSC Group that is present in 49 countries  

The Directorate General  of the Cameroon Customs and its trusted partner, Africa Global Logistics, AGL Cameroon, on January 14, 2025 in the nation’s economic capital, Douala,  jointly launched a sensitization campaign against corruption. The information is contained in press release issued in Douala by Africa Global Logistics Cameroon.

The joint launching ceremony of  the sensitization campaign against corruption, which took place within the framework of this year’s celebration of the International Customs Day, saw the presence of the representative of the Governor of  the Littoral Region, the representative of the National Commission for  the Fight Against Corruption commonly known by   the French acronym, CONAC, officials from the Directorate General of the Cameroon Customs, and  the Deputy General Manager of Africa Global Logistics, AGL Cameroon, MAMA NSOUNCHIAT.

 The sensitization campaign against corruption is an important stage in the joint efforts of the Directorate General of Customs and Africa Global Logistics, to promote integrity and transparency in the customs and logistics sector. The objective is to reinforce the confidence of service users and economic partners, by curbing the illegal practice which compromises the economic development of Cameroon.

“Corruption has no place in a system that aspires at performance and excellence. As a citizen friendly enterprise and strategic partner of the Cameroon Customs, Africa Global Logistics is engaged as well as determined to follow this dynamic, by putting at their disposition modern tools and innovative solutions for good governance. At AGL we strongly believe that the fight against corruption is essential to ensure an economic environment that is healthy and competitive. In working closely with the Directorate General of Customs, we harness our efforts to offer more effective, ethical and responsible services”,  MAMA NSOUNCHIAT, the Deputy General Manager of Africa Global Logistics, AGL Cameroon, declared.

On his part, the Chief of Sector of Customs Littoral II, SOPHREY HAMILTON FRU, insisted on the need for collaboration between different actors in the fight against corruption. Hear him: “The fight against corruption cannot be the affair alone of one entity. It is a fight that necessitates the involvement of all the actors – public and private. As a major actor in the regulation of eternal trade, and the attractiveness, private investments and structural transformation of the national economy, the Directorate of Customs has engaged all its collaborators to bar the way to corruption for a healthy business climate, a prosperous national economy, and the promotion of good practice, to attain our objectives for an emerging Cameroon”.

 Meanwhile, it is worth noting that the launching of this year’s International Customs Day took place in Garoua, North Region, on January 20, 2025. It was presided over by Cameroon’s Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, in the presence of some senior management personnel of AGL Cameroon. The International Customs Day comes up every January 26.
